Recap: Operation Partnership
Twenty-five Chamber members contributed to our efforts to strengthen ties between Tampa's military and civilian communities by spending Wednesday morning on MacDill Air Force Base. Local business executives paired up with active military members to learn about the ins and outs of their military counterpart's day-to-day business activities on base. The group also had the opportunity to tour a KC-135 and participate in a tour and demonstration of the Military Working Dogs on base. Both civilian and military participants walked away from the day with a new connection and a broadened understanding of each other's daily lives. This program was the first of many to come that will focus on building bridges and strengthening relationships between the military and civilian communities in Tampa. |

Competitive Edge Series: Storying
Tuesday, November 19, 2013 | 11:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, 201 North Franklin Street
Bob Allen's "Storying" is a practical, informative and light-hearted exploration of a critical practice that may eclipse budgeting, marketing, sales and production in the networked economy. When a story is not deliberately told, the human minds in the audience make up their own stories in order to organize reality and fill in the gap. Without a deliberately codified and articulated story, there is no "true north."
Attendees can expect to learn: the mechanisms of good storying, the components of a powerful story, the pitfall of the "story sandwich" and some brain science behind the power of a story. Free for FIT Two, $35 for Chamber members and $50 for non-members. Click here to register.
