Recap: SBOY Semi-Finalist Luncheon 

On June 12, the Chamber's 2013 Small Business of the Year semi-finalists attended a special luncheon honoring their selection at The Columbia Restaurant. Yesterday's luncheon, hosted by the 2013 SBOY committee chair Jamie Harden of Creative Sign Designs, featured a panel that consisted of Deborah Sheridan of Florida Bank, Kevin Hourigan of Bayshore Solutions, and Vince Cassidy of Majesty Title Services. Attendees were provided with critical information regarding the judging process, as well as an opportunity to ask the panelists a variety of questions. Chamber hosts U.S. Congressman Tom Rooney  
Local legislator leads discussion on issues that affect our members
 
On Monday, June 10, Chamber members were able to have a special meet and greet with U.S. Congressman Tom Rooney. Congressman Rooney addressed some of the issues he is working to solve, such as local tax payer dollars returning back to the Tampa Bay area through appropriations. Chamber members were also able to voice their opinions and asked how the government can help encourage more students to join the information technology field. Even a tropical storm can't keep the Women of Influence Committee from looking fabulous! Last Thursday's, Pearls of Wisdom featured the do's and don'ts of looking their best in the professional workplace. Local fashion expert, Wendi Braswell led a fun and engaging session with her simple techniques and training. She taught the women of Tampa all they needed to know about how to dress for your body type and what looks best! Thank you to Wendi Braswell for speaking and to our host, Mise en Place, as well as the presenting sponsor PNC Bank for yet another wonderful event. All Call for Committee Members: 7th Annual Sporting Clays Tournament

Mark your calendars! The Chamber's 7th Annual Sporting Clays Tournament is set for Friday, November 15 at Tampa Bay Sporting Clays.  Registration will begin later this summer, but the planning committee is kicking into high gear in June.  If you have a special interest in clay shooting, special event planning or just want to meet some other Chamber members, let us know.  Committee members are asked to help plan the tournament, recruit sponsors and find raffle prizes.  If interested in participating, please contact Michelle Montgomery at mmontgomery@tampachamber.com.

Recap: Doing Business with MacDill

The new and improved Doing Business with MacDill format was met with great feedback from those in attendance on June 6th. This year's event incorporated all of the elements from the past along with new additions, such as a series of breakout sessions designed to give a more in-depth experience for participants in the areas they want to know about most.
