Join Digital Rochester for Workforce Development Month

Intended for individuals and companies to increase their competitive  advantage 

Rochester, NY - Next week Digital Rochester will launch a series of March events focused on connecting Rochester's top tech talent with our area's leading employers. DR's first "Workforce Development Month," will kick off with two free webinars and a capstone event - bringing professionals together to hone their hiring and recruiting skills.

 

Digital Rochester's first webinar, geared towards human resources, recruiters and hiring managers, teaches participants how to Increase Your Talent Reach with LinkedIn. LinkedIn has become a resource for millions of professionals and an invaluable tool in the recruiting scene. Sue Samiljan, Enterprise Relationship Manager with LinkedIn, will teach participants how to leverage the site to secure talent with tips on developing an attractive company page, using the Advance Search function, and the advantages of purchasing a "Recruiter Seat." The second webinar in the series will focus on Attracting Opportunities With Your Online Personal Brand. In an effort to make you more marketable online, Digital Rochester has tapped some of the area's top local experts in online personal branding. Learn how to refine your online presence and positively impact recruiters' and hiring managers' impression of you across your social networks. Presenters include Arthur Catalanello of Harvey Research, Hannah Morgan of CareerSherpa.net, Deborah Mourey of Mourey Consulting, and Greg Taylor of Excelsior Search Partners. Workforce Development Month's final Capstone Event, designed for employers at all levels of the hiring process, will include keynote speakers and breakout sessions that teach attendees How to Build and Retain a Technical A-Team. First, hear from Laurie Zaucha, Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development, and Sanjay Hiranandani, Vice President of Information Technology Operations about the strategies Paychex has implemented to attract top talent, build a strong employer brand, and retain their best employees.

 

Then, break out into roundtable discussions and weigh in on topics including:

  • Employing Career Profiles vs. Job Descriptions
  • Engaging Attraction Strategies & Candidate Experience
