In the Spotlight....10 minutes with Brad Orchard

If you haven't had the pleasure of meeting Brad, let us introduce you to him...
Brad started with IPB 4 years ago, and is our Die Cutting/Gluer Area Leader and Production Technical Support Lead - with over 35 years of experience, some may consider him an expert.
He oversees the department, implements procedures for process improvements, signs off on technical drawings for each job and ensures quality is met on the product before we start up the die cutters and gluers. If there is problem with your carton, a request for improvement, or a change to the product specification - Brad is the lead support member assigned to your order.
When asked what is the greatest thing about working at IPB, Brad doesn't hesitate by saying "the commitment of people and family is what makes this a great place to work for...In all his years, he has never met a group of people as committed as the team at IPB."
When Brad is not working at IPB, you will likely find him fishing (most likely up north) or sitting at home watching the Nascar Race on television. He loves the outdoors, and his passion for cars goes beyond just watching the race - Brad is a proud owner a 1972 Cutlass Supreme..."a real beauty".
Ask him about retirement, and he doesn't plan on it yet. He loves what is doing, and can't imagine being anywhere else right now.

So what are benefits to creating to your ink on-site you may ask...
First and foremost the process of creating our ink allows us the ability to make what we need, when we need it - Thus reducing the amount of waste, and decreasing costs overall. In partnership with SunChemical, the industry leader and largest producer of inks and pigments ( www.sunchemical.com ), IPB can also create a perfect match of colour each time and on-site. We essentially eliminate the need to order and wait for shipments of ink to arrive from the supplier.
Another benefit to creating our ink on-site, is that the computerized dispenser allows us to save the colour matches directly into our system and we can assign these colours directly to our customers file for duplicate future orders. The colour is a perfect match each time.
And last but certainly not least, the system allows us to keep track of the volume of ink we produce for each job so that we can better plan and manage future workloads and ensure we always have enough ink prepared - and never needing to over produce.
Simply put, the solution is better for our customers, our company and our environment. It's a win-win solution for everyone...and that is a good thing.
