Greetings!

Summer heat is already upon us as the summer solstice approaches. Long days of sunshine and heat mean that newly planted trees and shrubs need to be monitored closely and watered regularly. We recommend a thorough watering once a week for in-ground plants. Containers will need more frequent watering. Here is a great information page from the Morton Arboretum.

We are open Monday - Saturday, 8am - 4:30pm. We will be closed Monday, July 4th. Please call 815-338-7442 or email us with any tree availability questions. We are happy to check our extensive inventory. Contact us if you'd like to come out and tag trees in the field. Always be prepared for some mud when you venture beyond the sales yard! We welcome garden clubs to tour our nursery. Be sure to schedule your visit now.

Summertime Blues

Abies lasiocarpa var. arizonica 'Glauca Compacta' is a dense, slow-growing Rocky Mountain fir with silver-blue needles. What a great contrast against green or yellow conifers! Available in 2 gallon ($50), 3-4'BB ($200), and 4-5'BB ($275).

Picea pungens 'Montgomery' is a fabulous bright blue Colorado spruce that is slow-growing and forms a squat pyramid. Available in 10 gallon ($250).

Pinus parviflora 'Blauer Engel' is a light blue-green Japanese white pine. Translated from the German, it means 'Blue Angel'. Available in 3 gallon ($145).
