We've enjoyed a lovely fall with its mix of bright sunny days and rain that was greatly needed. And now we've had our first taste of winter! Rich's Foxwillow Pines Nursery will be closed the entire Thanksgiving weekend. Starting in December we will be open 8am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Please call 815-338-7442 or email us if you'd like to come out and tag trees in the field.

A big thank you to all of our customers - it's such a joy to share our love of conifers and other trees with you. Thanks also to all of our suppliers who provide such quality products. Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Snow to Rain Ratios

When we get a lot of snow, it feels like that would equal a whole lot of water. The reality is, 10" or more of snow can equal an inch of rain, depending on the temperature and how wet or dry the snow is. Click below for a lesson and quiz on how to determine the "liquid equivalent."
