Greetings!

These early summer rains sure are promoting lush growth. Keep an eye on the rain gauge through the summer, and if you're not seeing a good inch of soaking rain a week, supplemental watering is recommended. Anything in containers needs more frequent monitoring and watering. If your garden still needs a little sprucing up, why not try a whimsical Picea omorika 'Pendula Bruns' or one our Picks of the MonthWe have beautiful b&b and container trees in our sales yard. If you'd like to come out to look for trees in the field, please call 815-338-7442 or email us to schedule a visit.

Serbian Spruce

Picea omorika 'Pendula Bruns' is a whimsical Serbian spruce and makes a stunning specimen in any garden. The crooked yet upright leader, pendulous branches, and elegant skirt sweeping the base are defining characteristics.

This young tree (above) in a small container shows potential, while the older tree (below) is developing the stunning features that give 'Pendula Bruns' its charm and whimsy.

This cultivar thrives in full sun and requires good drainage. It grows about 4-5' every ten years.
