Greetings!

Another month of bitter cold and snow is upon us. But the weather forecasters are hinting at milder days toward the end of the month. Winters can be a challenging time for trees and shrubs. It's fascinating how deciduous and evergreen trees have different adaptations for getting through extremes.

It was great to see everyone at the garden show in Madison. Our next show will be the annual Chicago Flower & Garden Show at Navy Pier. As spring approaches, we are anticipating a great season with our sales yard filled with wonderful conifers, beeches, Japanese maples and more.  There's still time if you need to special order anything.  Please call 815-338-7442.

March 15-23, 2014

A fabulous way to welcome spring, the Chicago Flower & Garden Show  offers beauty and inspiration for all gardeners. Featured Garden #12 by Rich's Foxwillow Pines Nursery, Inc. will highlight 50 Shades of Green. With a myriad of greens, from moss, lime and sea green to olive, mint and forest green, RFWP showcases enchanting conifers. Other plants in hues of yellow, blue and red will punctuate the vast array of green. On display will be three separate conifer gardens, one featuring plants for shade, another accenting dwarf conifers, and a third with unusual plants for a sunny garden. This garden shows how dwarf conifers are perfect for smaller urban gardens, enhancing the plant palette with unique forms, textures and coning attributes.
