Creedmoor Sports Announces Talladega NRA Monthly Matches - Anniston, AL -( AmmoLand.com)- Creedmoor Sports would like to announce our monthly NRA high power rifle matches to be held at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park - "the most modern and advanced service rifle and pistol range in the world." Our first match will be held January 16-17, 2016 and will include an 800 aggregate on Saturday and a 4-man team and EIC match on Sunday. Read the complete article.
Rozanski on Fire. Sara Rozanski of Pell City, Alabama, proved herself to be a formidable opponent at Camp Perry. Rozanski took the win at the Appreciation Cup Match as well as many other High Woman wins in other matches. The Appreciation Cup consists of 20 rapid fire shots made from a sitting or kneeling position. Facing 257 other competitors she came out on top with a near perfect score of 200-16x. Cape JROTC Jenna Ennis wins first place regional marksmanship awards - CapeGazette.com, Delaware - Cape Henlopen High School Army JROTC senior cadet Jenna Ennis won two first-place awards, for highest overall score and best standing position, in an Army JROTC Regional Rifle Marksmanship competition that included over 300 competitors from among 86 other high schools in the Middle Atlantic States region. Project Appleseed Weeklong "Rifleman Boot Camp" Marksmanship Clinic Offered at Isaac Davis Memorial Range in Tallahassee, FL area -Jan. 24-29, 2016 - Ramseur, NC -( Ammoland.com)- Project Appleseed is a nationwide program of The Revolutionary War Veterans Association, a non-profit educational organization operated by volunteer instructors dedicated to maintaining the ideals and traditions of the Founding generation of our country. New CMP State Directors. The CMP would like to welcome two new State Directors - LTC (Ret.) Chris Miller, of Enterprise, AL, and Michael East, of West Point, MS. The mission of the State Directors is to provide leadership, resource and program information, coordination, networking, motivation and publicity for junior shooting within his or her state. The CMP has openings in the following states for State Directors: Delaware, Louisiana, Maine, New Jersey, North Dakota, New Hampshire, Nevada, Tennessee and Washington. CMP Club Annual Reports. CMP Affiliated Clubs, State Associations and MOUs are encouraged to visit http://thecmp.org/clubs/club-annual-reports/ to complete an annual Club Renewal and Activity Report to renew their affiliation with the CMP. The Club Activity Report requests current data about CMP Affiliated Clubs and information about the club's activities during the calendar year 2015. Information reported is used to determine the organization's eligibility for CMP programs as well as to evaluate and develop CMP programs. 2015-2016 CMP National Postal, State, Regional and National Championships. The CMP sponsors Three Position Air Rifle Championships that include a postal, State Championships, Regional Championships and a National Championship. These matches are designed to give all junior shooters around the country an opportunity to compete in a national level match, as well as to create shoulder-to-shoulder matches for juniors to attend. CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park. The latest addition to the CMP is its 500-acre outdoor marksmanship facility in Talladega, Alabama. The CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park is the first of its kind in the country and is one of the most sophisticated in the world - housing electronic targets similar to those used in the CMP air gun ranges. Several events have been planned at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park:
Wednesday Mornings - Beginners Handgun Safety Course - Creedmoor Sports in conjunction with the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park are offering a beginners handgun safety and handling class designed to provide the beginner or novice with a basic understanding of handgun safety, operation, loading and firing. The class is four hours in duration consisting of two hours of classroom instruction and two hours of range time. Class begins at 9 am in the Clubhouse. The student will learn how to handle the handgun in a safe manner, how to carry it, how to load and unload it, and how to fire the handgun in a controlled environment. Each student will fire fifty rounds at a target 15 feet away. Call 256-474-0049 for information and/or to register for classes.

Jan 16th - CMP Shotgun Winter Open - Firing begins at 9:00 am and flights will be sent out until 1:00. European rotation will be used. Entry fee is $50, $25 for juniors. Golf cart rentals are $7 + tax. Medals will be awards for each class (Master, AA, A, B, C, D, E and Hunter) and the overall and runner-up. Register Today!

Training Workshop. Experienced rifle marksmanship instructors and shooters who would like to receive advanced training and be certified as "Master Instructors" to teach CMP-sanctioned Garand, Springfield and Vintage Military Rifle or Rimfire Sporter Clinics are invited to apply to attend a 2015 CMP Master Instructor Training Workshop. 2015 dates and locations are:

The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is proud to again award exemplary student-athletes in their future endeavors through its annual scholarship program for the 2016-2017 school year. The CMP offers $1,000 one-year scholarships based on merit and rifle or pistol marksmanship participation to current high school seniors. Deadline is 20 March 2016. "Save the Date" 2016 Schedule 12 March 16 April
21 May The Civilian Marksmanship Program invites you and your team to participate in the CMP's Monthly Matches. The matches will take place on the dates listed below at the CMP's Marksmanship Centers North and South. The competitions will feature a Junior Air Rifle 3x20 and 3x10, a 60 Shots Air Rifle and Air Pistol match, and a 20 shot Novice Prone match. Rental equipment is available for the monthly matches for a small fee.

The CMP "Aces" Postal satellite match offers all junior and adult air rifle and air pistol shooters a program designed to encourage participation in the sport and test marksmanship skills nationally with their peers.
