Final Results In for 2015-2016 JROTC Postal Competition

A total of 7,483 young marksmen participated in the 2015-2016 JROTC Postal match, with the top shooters and teams in each branch earning an invitation to the JROTC Regional Service Championships, to be held in Provo, UT; Anniston, AL; and Camp Perry, OH.

Herrin Overtakes Both Rifle and Pistol Events at Inaugural Talladega 600

TALLADEGA, Ala. - Unusually warm and inviting weather blanketed the competitors on the firing lines of Talladega Marksmanship Park as the Civilian Marksmanship Program's (CMP) Inaugural Talladega 600 was fired Dec. 8 through Dec. 13 to a group of 270 competitors. The event held for all ages and skill levels featured a variety of firearm matches, including pistol, rifle and even shotgun opportunities.
  
CMP's Greg Drummond Brings National-Level Experience to Talladega Marksmanship Park Shotgun

TALLADEGA, Ala. - Greg Drummond, one of the many talented employees at Talladega Marksmanship Park, performed a phenomenal feat in the Main Event at this year's National Sporting Clays Association's (NSCA) National Championship in San Antonio, Texas, as he brought home the National Title in the A Class. As the resident shotgun expert of the Civilian Marksmanship Program's (CMP) Talladega Marksmanship Park, he brings years of wisdom and experience to all visitors of the world-class facility.

2016 CMP Aces Postal Poker Chip Design Contest

WIN A FREE ENTRY! 2016 Aces Postal is reaching out for a Poker Chip design from you! Submit your design for the CMP's Aces Postal, for the opportunity to shoot free for a year (limit 2 events per quarter) and see your design on one of our Poker Chips. We will choose 1 design per quarter, so there will be 4 winners. CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park. The latest addition to the CMP is its 500-acre outdoor marksmanship facility in Talladega, Alabama. The CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park is the first of its kind in the country and is one of the most sophisticated in the world - housing electronic targets similar to those used in the CMP air gun ranges. Several events have been planned at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park:
 
Wednesday Mornings - Beginners Handgun Safety Course - Creedmoor Sports in conjunction with the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park are offering a beginners handgun safety and handling class designed to provide the beginner or novice with a basic understanding of handgun safety, operation, loading and firing. The class is four hours in duration consisting of two hours of classroom instruction and two hours of range time. Class begins at 9 am in the Clubhouse. The student will learn how to handle the handgun in a safe manner, how to carry it, how to load and unload it, and how to fire the handgun in a controlled environment. Each student will fire fifty rounds at a target 15 feet away. Call 256-474-0049 for information and/or to register for classes.

Jan 2nd - IDPA - This is a practical shooting event designed around handguns and gear commonly used for concealed carry and self-defense purposes. We welcome everyone to come out and participate. If you have questions about anything either message shall@thecmp.org or email Match Director Kyle Adomavicious at Kyle.adomavicius@gmail.com. Registration 8:00-8:30 CST. If this is your first time at CMP or not preregistered, you should consider making it closer to 8:00 CST. Shooters meeting at Range 5 at 9:00 CST.

Jan 3rd - Steel Challenge - The Steel Challenge "SCSA" is an entree level into Shooting competition as well as the "Drag Racing" of all of the shooting sports. The match consist of 5 stages where steel plates are arranged by different sizes and distances. The objective is to shoot 5 plates as fast as you can while being timed with a timer. Each stage consist of 5 strings of the same course and the slowest of your 5 tries will be discarded and will not factor into your score. There are several classes from kids to super seniors and everything in between. There is a class for everyone regardless of your skill level. CMP Garand-Springfield-Military Master Instructor
Training Workshop. Experienced rifle marksmanship instructors and shooters who would like to receive advanced training and be certified as "Master Instructors" to teach CMP-sanctioned Garand, Springfield and Vintage Military Rifle or Rimfire Sporter Clinics are invited to apply to attend a 2015 CMP Master Instructor Training Workshop. 2015 dates and locations are:

The games will be held at the Oklahoma City Gun Club. The CMP Games - Oklahoma will feature clinics, SAFS/M16 match, EIC Rifle Match, GSMM Four Gun Aggregate, Vintage Sniper Match, CMP As-Issued 1911 Pistol Match, Military & Police Service Pistol Match, EIC Pistol match, and several other events! The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is proud to again award exemplary student-athletes in their future endeavors through its annual scholarship program for the 2016-2017 school year. The CMP offers $1,000 one-year scholarships based on merit and rifle or pistol marksmanship participation to current high school seniors. Deadline is 20 March 2016. The Civilian Marksmanship Program invites you and your team to participate in the CMP's Monthly Matches. The matches will take place on the dates listed below at the CMP's Marksmanship Centers North and South. The competitions will feature a Junior Air Rifle 3x20 and 3x10, a 60 Shots Air Rifle and Air Pistol match, and a 20 shot Novice Prone match. Rental equipment is available for the monthly matches for a small fee.

The CMP "Aces" Postal satellite match offers all junior and adult air rifle and air pistol shooters a program designed to encourage participation in the sport and test marksmanship skills nationally with their peers.
