CMP Welcomes Disabled During Second Annual Ohio Day at the Range |

CAMP PERRY, Ohio -The second annual Ohio Day at the Range and Outdoor Adventure Fair once again welcomed people with disabilities to participate in educational, hands-on outdoor opportunities in an attempt to open their eyes to what can be possible for them and their families. Last year, over 400 attended the event, held at Camp Perry, Ohio, with even more participation at this year's Fair.

The 2015-2016 JROTC Postal Competition will officially open on Sept. 28, 2015, for young cadets in Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Air Force JROTC programs who are interested in competing in this three-position air rifle match with other talented juniors across the nation. To compete, registered participants will each receive three targets and instructions for recording scores. Shooters will fire in each of the three positions (prone, standing, kneeling) at their home ranges - using one target for each position. Once record shots are fired, shooters will return the targets to CMP for scoring.

The 2015 Gary Anderson Invitational will be held Dec. 4-5 at the CMP South Range in Anniston, Ala., and Dec. 5 at the newly expanded Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center in Camp Perry, Ohio.

CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park. The latest addition to the CMP is its 500-acre outdoor marksmanship facility in Talladega, Alabama. The CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park is the first of its kind in the country and is one of the most sophisticated in the world - housing electronic targets similar to those used in the CMP air gun ranges. Several events have been planned at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park: Wednesday Mornings - Beginners Handgun Safety Course - Creedmoor Sports in conjunction with the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park are offering a beginners handgun safety and handling class designed to provide the beginner or novice with a basic understanding of handgun safety, operation, loading and firing. The class is four hours in duration consisting of two hours of classroom instruction and two hours of range time. Class begins at 9 am in the Clubhouse. The student will learn how to handle the handgun in a safe manner, how to carry it, how to load and unload it, and how to fire the handgun in a controlled environment. Each student will fire fifty rounds at a target 15 feet away. Call 256-474-0049 for information and/or to register for classes.
Sept 19th - USPSA Pistol Match - The Talladega Practical Shooters will host a USPSA Pistol Match. Registration begins at 8:00am at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park Club House. A range safety briefing will be given at 8:30 am. and firing will begin at 9:00 am. For more information call 256-474-4408 Ext 460.
Sept 25-26th - CMP-GCA Clinic Talladega. The GCA Convention Match will take place at the Talladega Marksmanship Park in Talladega, Alabama on September 25-26, 2015. During the convention the CMP will host a Vintage Sniper match on September 25 and a John C Garand match on September 26. The matches are limited to GCA convention members only.Oct 17th - Alabama State High Power Championship. This is a non-EIC 800 aggregate match. 20 shots slow fire prone, 200 yards, 20 shots rapid fire sitting, 200 yards, 20 shots rapid fire prone 300 yards, 20 shots slow fire prone 600 yards. This match is open to the public. Firing will begin at 9:00 am, competitors must arrive no later than 8:30 to the Talladega Marksmanship Park Club House for orientation. This is a NRA registered tournament. The NRA classification system will be used and appropriate NRA points will be given. Appropriate championship awards will be given to Alabama residents only. A NRA/USAS/CMP Level 1 Rifle/Air Rifle Coach School will be held in Camden, SC, on 26-27 September. For more information contact Paul Davis at paulLdavis@charter.net.

The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) invites you to participate in its fifth annual Anniston Marksmanship Center Dixie Double. This match offers 60-shot international air rifle standing and 60-shot air pistol events for open men and women and junior men and women. USA Shooting is sanctioning this match as a PSA/PSI match sanctions; it is also sanctioned as a PTO.
Members of the National Rifle and Pistol Teams will attend. The match is a two-day event held 20-22 November 2015.
