SGT Ryan Franks Makes His Mark During 2015 President's Pistol Match
 

 

CAMP PERRY, Ohio - SGT Ryan Franks, 27, of the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU), is new to the world of competitive shooting - but that didn't stop him from becoming the overall winner of the prestigious President's Pistol Match at the 2015 National Trophy Pistol Matches. Surprising both his teammates and himself, he fired an impressive score of 392-15x to earn the title. "It's extremely surreal. I had no expectations of doing it whatsoever," he said with a smile.

SSG Cleveland, SFC Patrick Franks and AMU Lead NTI and NTT Pistol Matches


 

CAMP PERRY, Ohio - SSG Lawrence Cleveland, 30, of the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU), fired the overall winning score of 294-7x in the National Trophy Individual (NTI) Match at the 2015 National Trophy Pistol Matches. Along with his name forever etched in National Match history, SSG Cleveland also received an Inland Model 1911, donated by Inland Manufacturing, for his superb performance during the competition.

CMP Hosts Annual National Trophy Rifle and Games Matches in July


 

CAMP PERRY, Ohio -The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is thrilled to once again welcome eager competitors to the Rifle Phase of the National Trophy Matches, held July 15-28, 2015, at the world-famous Camp Perry National Guard training facility. The matches have been fired on the base since 1907 and continue to draw thousands of athletes and spectators each year. The event offers air gun, vintage military rifle and modern military rifle opportunities to enthusiasts of all ages.

In each of the last three years, Winters has taken part in a World War II re-enactment that is part of the first day festivities, kicking off the national championship of marksmanship. Corps' top marksmen want Marines to join their team -By Matthew Schehl, Staff Writer, Marine Corps Times -  MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va. - Staff Sgt. Chad Ranton is a decent drummer with the Marine Corps Pacific Band. But he also happens to be a wicked shot. As a member of the Marine Corps Shooting Team, Ranton repeatedly hit targets dead center from distances of 200, 300 and 600 yards away at the 54th annual Interservice Rifle Championship on June 30. 2015 Biennial Coach College and Conference - Coach College 24-26 August and Coach Conference 28-30 August - USAS wants all coaches that are interested to have access to the information presented at these Biennial Coach Conferences. This year USAS will pilot the live coach conference broadcast to all USAS Certified Training Centers (CTC) and a few other independent sites. This will allow coaches the choice of traveling to a closer broadcast site that maybe in commuting distance which will reduce travel time and cost. They will still offer an opportunity to attend the live conference here at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Registration fee is $170. Their purpose is to offer additional competition opportunities for National Matches pistol and rifle competitors as well as for anyone who wants to shoot in the National Matches with their air pistols or air rifles. All of these events will take place at The CMP Gary Anderson Competition Center on MegaLink electronic targets.

The Civilian Marksmanship Program invites you and your team to participate in the CMP's Monthly Matches. The matches will take place on the dates listed below at the CMP's Marksmanship Centers North and South. The competitions will feature a Junior Air Rifle 3x20 and 3x10, a 60 Shots Air Rifle and Air Pistol match, and a 20 shot Novice Prone match.
