CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park gets finishing touches before May opening: daily pricing announce - By Joe Songer, AL.com - The CMP Talladega Marksmanship construction continues. The park will open May 6 with the dedication scheduled for June 5, 2015. Testing of the electronic scoring and final cleanup will take place from now until opening day. Rogers proposes CMP take control of old Army pistols - Amendment to go before the House later this month - By Chip Scarborough, WVTM 13 - ANNISTON, Ala. -An east Alabama congressman has a plan to save taxpayers money when it comes to storing vintage firearms for the Army. The plan involves moving the weapons to the Civilian Marksmanship Program, which includes its facility in Anniston. Congressman Rogers says it's a win-win because the pistols are placed in very capable hands at the Civilian Marksmanship Program and it also saves taxpayers roughly $200,000 per year. The celebration is a two-day event which includes tours of the facility, a special John C. Garand Rifle Match on Saturday commemorating the 71st anniversary of the Allied Forces D-Day landing at Normandy Beach and Service Rifle EIC, Service Pistol EIC and .22 Rimfire Pistol EIC Matches on Sunday.
