CMP Announces New Positions of Current Staff Members

    

CAMP PERRY, OH; ANNISTON, AL; TALLADEGA, AL - The growing number of programs and exciting fresh beginnings have compelled the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) to sprinkle its hard working staff with new endeavors within the organization. As a result, many current staff members were given new job titles and responsibilities.

By Joe Songer, AL.com - The U.S. Marine Corps Shooting Team and the U.S. Army Service Rifle Team are testing the new Kongsberg Electronic Target System installed at the soon to open CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park. The two rifle teams compete against each other at shooting competitions around the world but came together as one team to help the CMP thoroughly evaluate the new target system.

Courtesy of Kevin Neuendorf, USA Shooting - March is upon us and that means just one thing in the shooting world.  NCAA Rifle Championships and another chance for West Virginia University (WVU) to once again reassert itself as the dominant collegiate rifle program in the land. 

Boasting proudly their 16 championship titles, this year's Mountaineer squad will stroll onto the campus of the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) as the favorite to win it all yet again when action begins Friday at the E.F. Horton Rifle Range and Patty Center.
 

  

    

Target in sight: Project Appleseed lets its campers hone rifle marksmanship skills - RAMSEUR - Those wanting to learn more about The Revolutionary War's history and hone their traditional rifle marksmanship skills can do so during a week-long rifleman boot camp offered by Project Appleseed later this month. The rifleman boot camp will be held from March 29 to April 3 at the Revolutionary War Veterans Association home range, located at Willie Wright Road and Royal Ridge Road, Ramseur. Copperopolis sharpshooter has sights on the future

Inaugural Matches at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park - 6 & 7 June. On 6 June, there will be a Special John C. Garand D-Day Anniversary Match, limited to the first 350 competitors! Sign Up Now for One of CMP's Upcoming Camp Riflery Master Instructor Courses - Become a part of the Civilian Marksmanship Program's (CMP) growing list of Camp Riflery Master Instructors by attending one of two Camp Riflery Master Instructor Workshops being offered in 2015. A workshop will be held at Camp Perry, OH, March 16-17, and in Anniston, AL, March 23-24. Camp Riflery programs are some of the most popular activities offered at summer camps around the country where riflery is offered. There, boys and girls learn safe gun handling and marksmanship skills, while also being introduced to the stimulating sport of target shooting. Along the way, the juniors also develop valuable life skills that will be beneficial on their journey into adulthood. CMP Club Annual Reports.  CMP Affiliated Clubs, State Associations and MOUs are encouraged to visit http://thecmp.org/clubs/club-annual-reports/ to complete an annual Club Renewal and Activity Report to renew their affiliation with the CMP. The Club Activity Report requests current data about CMP Affiliated Clubs and information about the club's activities during the calendar year 2014. Information reported is used to determine the organization's eligibility for CMP programs as well as to evaluate and develop CMP programs. 2015 Club Renewal and Activity Reports are due no later than April 1, 2015. Junior Camp Counselors. The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is seeking qualified individuals to fill counselor positions for its Junior Rifle Camps program.  This premier program has a long established history of providing the highest quality three-position and international air rifle instruction in the country for high school athletes. Camp Counselor positions are open to college students who have completed at least one year of college and are members of an NCAA or college club rifle team. Applicants must be available to work and travel from 27 May through 7 August 2015. CMP Garand-Springfield-Military Master Instructor

Training Workshop. The CMP Games - Oklahoma, sponsored by the Civilian Marksmanship Program, will be held at the Oklahoma City Gun Club. The CMP Games - Oklahoma will feature clinics, SAFS/M16 match, EIC Rifle Match, GSMM Four Gun Aggregate, Vintage Sniper Match, CMP As-Issued 1911 Pistol Match, Military & Police Service Pistol Match, EIC Pistol match, and several other events! All events will take place at the OKC Gun Club's Range in Arcadia.

The competitions will feature a Junior Air Rifle 3x20 and 3x10, a 60 Shots Air Rifle and Air Pistol match, and a 20 shot Novice Prone match. ** New in 2015 **

The CMP "Aces" Postal satellite match offers all junior and adult air rifle and air pistol shooters a program designed to encourage participation in the sport and test marksmanship skills nationally with their peers. The program consists of Air Rifle, Air Pistol, and Para-Air Rifle/Air Pistol events.

The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) offers $1000 one-year scholarships assistance to encourage and reward outstanding and deserving high school seniors on the basis of merit to selected high school seniors who are currently enrolled in a team or club that is participating in rifle or pistol marksmanship competitions. The CMP seeks applications from high school seniors who are currently compete in marksmanship competitions.
