ANNISTON, AL - The Civilian Marksmanship Program is re-emphasizing to its customers that ammunition sales are a key component of the CMP's mission "to promote firearm safety and marksmanship, with an emphasis on youth". Supplies of CMP ammunition are not intended for commercial resale, but to be used by its constituents who participate in marksmanship activities.  Income derived from the sale of ammunition to its marksmanship participants directly supports the CMP's various programs and activities which include youth marksmanship camps, clinics and competitions to name a few.

CMP South Hosts Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Camp

    

The week of October 20-24, the CMP South Competition Center was filled with shooters learning the basics of rifle, pistol and archery shooting. Like many other groups that pass through the doors of the Competition Center in Anniston, AL, this one was also taught the proper positions and the importance of a shot process, while also hearing encouraging words like "adapt and overcome." For this particular group, however, adapt and overcome meant more than just shooting through bad conditions or equipment malfunctions - it is a common mantra for the 18 Marine Corps members who participated in the Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Camp at the competition center.

THE WORLD OF HAND-LOADING!

- A practical and hands on guide to safe, accurate, and consistent loading of ammunition for your firearms
- This class will take you through the NRA Basic Hand-loading Class including workbooks, lecture, and video presentation for the morning and move into the Hands On Advanced Hand-loading class for the afternoon which includes precision hand-loading tools, methods, ballistics/theory and machines/tools used to produce tack driving custom made ammunition. The class will take place Saturday, January 24th, at the Ben Avery Shooting Range Activity Center in Phoenix, AZ. Class Fee: ASRPA Members $30 (NRA Workbooks, Lecture/Video, All Equipment Included, and LUNCH!), NON ASRPA Members $45 (includes all of the above plus a one year ASRPA Membership and Official Pin). The CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park, is expected to open May 2015. The Marksmanship Park will be open to the public and will offer sport shooters opportunities to practice and participate in games and match events. In addition to range use, visitors can enroll in classes, purchase firearms accessories or just relax in our safe, comfortable recreation complex. 2014-2015 CMP National Postal, State, Regional and National Championships. The CMP sponsors Three Position Air Rifle Championships that include a postal, State Championships, Regional Championships and a National Championship. These matches are designed to give all junior shooters around the country an opportunity to compete in a national level match, as well as to create shoulder-to-shoulder matches for juniors to attend. Training Workshop. CMP Scholarship Program

The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) offers $1000 one-year scholarships assistance to encourage and reward outstanding and deserving high school seniors on the basis of merit to selected high school seniors who are currently enrolled in a team or club that is participating in rifle or pistol marksmanship competitions. The CMP seeks applications from high school seniors who are currently compete in marksmanship competitions.

The CMP "Aces" Postal satellite match offers all junior and adult air rifle and air pistol shooters a program designed to encourage participation in the sport and test marksmanship skills nationally with their peers.
