New Target Sprint Event Brings Excitement and Fun to Air Rifle Competitions

    

ANNISTON, AL - This year's Dixie Double featured an exciting addition to its lineup that brought a new, thrilling energy to the match. The Target Sprint became an exciting challenge for competitors - testing not only their ability to shoot, but also their ability hit their targets through escalated pulses, heavy breathing and laughter. A large crowd of spectators also brought roars of inspiration and fun to the event's premier in Anniston.

Overall Winners Established for CMP's First Monthly Match League

    

 

After six months of grueling competition, the Civilian Marksmanship Program's (CMP) newly added Monthly Match League has come to a close. The Monthly Match League was a new, added competition between North and South Monthly Match competitors, to coincide with CMP's existing Monthly Matches.  Matches were held at the South CMP Competition Center in Anniston, AL, as well as the Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center at Camp Perry, OH, in March, April, May, September, October and November.

CMP Competition Center Serves as Gateway to Next Generation of Business Professionals

    

 

CAMP PERRY, OH - On October 24, more than 500 local freshman students visited the Gary Anderson CMP Competition Center as a path towards their future careers. The event was part of an effort to encourage workforce development, career preparation and skilled-trade opportunities for the next workforce generation. CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park nears completion - By Joe Songer, AL.com - TALLADEGA, Alabama -- The CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park is nearing completion and an opening date has been set. The construction phase of the $20 million project will be complete in mid February and the 500 acre park will open May 6, 2015.

2014-2015 CMP National Postal, State, Regional and National Championships. The CMP sponsors Three Position Air Rifle Championships that include a postal, State Championships, Regional Championships and a National Championship. These matches are designed to give all junior shooters around the country an opportunity to compete in a national level match, as well as to create shoulder-to-shoulder matches for juniors to attend. CMP Garand-Springfield-Military Master Instructor

Training Workshop. Experienced rifle marksmanship instructors and shooters who would like to receive advanced training and be certified as "Master Instructors" to teach CMP-sanctioned Garand, Springfield and Vintage Military Rifle or Rimfire Sporter Clinics are invited to apply to attend a 2015 CMP Master Instructor Training Workshop. 2015 dates and locations are:

The JROTC Postal Competition is an annual competition that is open to all JROTC cadets and JROTC unit teams. Final results are posted on the CMP website at https://ct.thecmp.org/app/v1/index.php?do=match&task=edit&tab=results&match=11900. All scores will be final on December 12th. Regional qualifiers are also listed on the CMP website at http://thecmp.org/air/jrotc-air-rifle-national-championship/. Because of the short time period between when the JROTC postal scores became final on 12Dec14 and the start of the Service Championship, it is critically important that every JROTC unit receiving an invitation to participate inform CMP as soon as possible as to your intention to participate. Instructors of qualifying unit teams or individuals are requested to complete online registration no later than 23Jan15. 

 

 

CMP Travel Games. The CMP travels to various states to hold our popular and fun CMP Games Matches. In 2015, the CMP will hold the following CMP Travel Games:


8-12 April 2015 - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma


1-10 May 2015 - Camp Butner, North Carolina

 

18-23 August 2015 - Minneapolis, MN

 

9-14 October 2015 - Ben Avery Shooting Facility, Phoenix, Arizona

The CMP "Aces" Postal satellite match offers all junior and adult air rifle and air pistol shooters a program designed to encourage participation in the sport and test marksmanship skills nationally with their peers.
