DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR THE AMC LOTTERY IS APPROACHING. Dates for the 2015 Advanced Maintenance Class (AMC) were announced last week and individuals may register for the AMC lottery through December 1. The AMC is the first class offered by the CMP that allows hands-on training with the M1 Garand - teaching rifle function ad preservation. Participants are educated on topics such as component purpose and function, barrel installation, malfunctions and remedies, as well as other techniques, through verbal presentations and video demonstrations. Students also build their own Garand from CMP parts, under the direction of CMP's expertly trained Custom Shop gunsmiths. With the overwhelming popularity of the CMP AMC, we have decided to increase the number of classes to 12 for 2015. There will also be two special buddy classes. NEW PRODUCT REPORT: CMP OFFERS HIGH QUALITY .30-06 AMMO FROM CREEDMOOR SPORTS - By Dennis Santiago - At the recent Western CMP Games and Creedmoor Cup Matches in Phoenix, I received a box of the all-new .30-06 Match-Grade ammunition from Dennis DeMille of Creedmoor Sports. My job was to test the ammo (at the Games) and write about it. This box was part of Creedmoor's 3-million-round production run for the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). CMP ANNUAL REPORT. The Board of Directors and Officers of the Corporation for the Promotion of Rifle Practice and Firearms Safety, Inc., commonly known as the Civilian Marksmanship Program or CMP, proudly present this CMP 2014 Annual Report. During FY14, proceeds from the sale of government surplus rifles and ammunition fully funded all CMP programs, providing a substantial excess of revenue over expenses for our twelfth consecutive year. This excess is invested in CMP's permanent endowment, providing funds to finance CMP programs in future years when the supply of government surplus rifles is exhausted. In the past fiscal year, the CMP not only provided an expanding array of firearm safety and marksmanship programs for U. S. citizens, but continued to support marksmanship training and competition activities for Army, Marine Corps, Navy and Air Force JROTC units through funding, awards and staff and volunteer expertise. HOLIDAY HOURS FOR THE CMP STORES. The CMP Stores will be closed November 27-29 and December 25-January 3. GET YOUR ORDERS IN NOW. To lock in current pricing, get your orders in now. Our customers will see a price increase on rifles and ammunition in early January 2015. We are thankful for the support of our customers (the CMP family) in the past, now, and into the future. We want to wish all of the CMP family a Happy Thanksgiving! Remember, introduce a young person to our sport and what makes our sport great - safety, comradery, friendship, and discipline.
