CMP Air Rifle Postal Competition Open for Registrations

    

Registration for the CMP National Postal Championship opened on Nov. 1, 2014 for any junior shooter involved in 4H, Scouts, American Legion, club or JROTC air rifle programs. The competition is designed for those juniors interested in testing their three-position skills against some of the top shooters in the country, from the convenience of their home ranges. Last year, 2,227 juniors participated in the CMP Postals.

Western CMP Games Shooters Set New Attendance Record

    

PHOENIX, AZ - A record group of 231 competitors were rewarded with five days of blue skies at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility north of the city for the 2014 Western CMP Games. It was the largest Western Games turnout dating back to the event's inception in 2004 at Camp Pendleton, CA.

CMP Participates in Inaugural Ohio Day at the Range

    

CAMP PERRY, OH - On September 27, a crowd of more than 400 paraded the grounds of Camp Perry for a day of recreational and personal discoveries. The inaugural Ohio Day at the Range and Outdoor Adventure Fair welcomed people with disabilities and their families to participate in educational, hands-on opportunities that opened the doors of possibilities and awareness for all.

CMP Offers High-Quality .30-06 Ammo from Creedmoor Sports

    

At the recent Western CMP Games and Creedmoor Cup Matches in Phoenix, I received a box of the all-new .30-06 Match-Grade ammunition from Dennis DeMille of Creedmoor Sports. My job was to test the ammo (at the Games) and write about it. This box was part of Creedmoor's 3-million-round production run for the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP).

The JROTC Postal Competition is an annual competition that is open to all JROTC cadets and JROTC unit teams. All individuals fire a 3X10 course of fire. Each JROTC unit may register as many cadets as they wish. Unit team scores are determined by the top four individual scores of cadets in that unit. Individuals and unit teams are ranked by their JROTC Service with the top scoring teams and individuals qualifying for the JROTC shoulder-to-shoulder Service Championship. The CMP's M1 Garand Maintenance Webinar is a live, online training course that will teach you the proper techniques for maintaining your M1 Garand rifle. The course will be instructed by CMP Custom Shop Manager, John McLean. During the webinar, participants will view several short videos and take part in a question and answer session with Mr. McLean.

Complete Rifle Disassembly and Reassembly
Rifle Lubrication
Cleaning and Storing the Rifle
Special Gauges for the M1 Garand and how they are used

CMP Monthly Matches, CMP Marksmanship Centers -

Anniston, AL & Port Clinton, OHThe CMP invites you and your team to participate in the CMP's Monthly Matches. The next Monthly Match will take place at the CMP's Marksmanship Centers North and South on 15 November. The competitions will feature a Junior Air Rifle 3x20 and 3x10, a 60 Shots Air Rifle and Air Pistol match, and a 20 shot Novice Prone match. Rental equipment is available for the monthly matches for a small fee.

This match offers 60-shot international air rifle standing and 60-shot air pistol events for open men and women and junior men and women.
