Do you want to learn more about rifle coaching or marksmanship? Help your shooting team get better? Coaching athletes, especially young athletes, is one of the most challenging endeavors--and one of the most rewarding. Some of the athletes you coach one day may represent U.S.A. in international competition. To help you give them the best start, you should participate in the NRA/USA Shooting/CMP Shooting Coach Certification Program. A 2014-B MJCA/TNSSA - NRA/USA SHOOTING/CMP Level 1 Coach Training School (Air Rifle/Smallbore Rifle) will be held on 13-14 September in Nashville, TN. Click here for more information.

2014 CMP Junior Rifle Camp Counselors Succeed. A big congrats to CMP summer camp assistant director Ashley Rose, who was named the head coach of the University of Nebraska Rifle Team this week! She has been working with the summer camps for 5 years, and we know she will be a great fit for the Huskers! Also, Counselor and Assistant Director Dan Hermsmeier will be the Graduate Assistant Coach this year at West Virginia University. And finally, five of the summer camp counselors qualified for the World Championships in Spain that will take place in September. Tim Sherry qualified for the open team. Sonya May, Dacotah Faught, Lorelie Stanfield and Lauren Phillips made the junior team. The World Championships is the biggest shooting match in the world, even bigger than the Olympics because they have more athletes and more events.

There will be an NRA/USAS/CMP Level I Air Rifle/Smallbore Rifle Coach School held in Camden, SC, September 6-7. For more information, please contact Paul L Davis at paulLdavis@charter.net.
