We've made a lot of memories cruising the Caribbean with hundreds of Western Music lovers over the years. Now we're going to tackle a different body of water: the Mississippi River. Our friends at Village Tours have put together another great tour for the Diamond W Family. We'll be visiting John Wayne's birthplace, the historic Amana colonies, the John Deere Pavilion, Grant's Farm, and much more... including a day on the Mighty Mississippi. Of course the Diamond W Wranglers will be serenading you in concerts along the way.

Greetings!
The snow's about gone now, and we are preparing for a great year on the trail. In 2013 Stu, Jim Steve and Chip will be harmonizing in some favorite haunts as well as new locales. They are looking forward to making music with Judy Coder and 3 Trails West ("The West Is As Wild As Ever"), and our buddy Rex Allen, Jr., who is taking the Diamond W back to Arizona later this year.
Speaking of Rex, we were tickled to hear that the album he produced with the Wranglers at Tennessee Jim's recording studio in Towanda got some national recognition. "Other Voices" was recognized by True West magazine among their "Best in the West" for 2012.
Also, the "Dog Doogity" music video we featured in our last newsletter has been chosen by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for their "Outreach Toolbox", which shares creative ideas with folks around the country. If you haven't seen it, it's definitely worth a couple minutes of your time. The Wranglers belt out a great message with Wichita blues singer Jenny Wood, and there's a cameo from Stu's wife Kathleen and their dog Chester.
This month the Diamond W Wranglers are back in the recording studio working on their next CD. In this "Special Delivery" Martha Farrell looks back at one of her favorite CD's from the past. See if you agree! Thanks for listening --
Happy Trails,

"What is YOUR
favorite CD?"
That's the question I hear often when I'm working the CD table for the Diamond W Wranglers. The truth is, almost ALL of them have been my favorite at one time or another.
In coming "Special Deliveries" I'll share highlights of other CD's, but let's kick off the conversation with "Full Gallop". This is perhaps my all time favorite, and yet it's often the last one to sell. Be honest -- is it because of the yellow cover??
Inside that cover is the best all-round collection of the Wranglers' original songs and beloved hits... from "Sonora Home" "Full Gallop" and "Great Spirit"... to"El Paso", "Someday Soon" and "Billy the Kid". This is the CD where they dared to record "I Just Don't Look Good Naked Anymore", one of their most-requested songs!
But the song that stops my breath is "Don't Ever Sell Your Saddle." I think their version of this Randy Travis song is much more moving than the original. In fact, someone put some pictures to it on the internet 3 years ago, and it's had nearly 15,000 hits. (People were passing it around for a year before the Wranglers were identified as the singers.)
And if you'd like to order the CD, just click the Full Gallop cover above.
We appreciate all the fans who faithfully collect the work of the Diamond W. They spend months working on every CD, as you can tell.
What is YOUR favorite CD? Write me, and I may use your comments down the road. THANKS!
-- Martha Farrell
(wife of Tennessee Jim)
