Sports Council's 2013 Plan
| |
Tourism's Sports Council has welcomed several new members in 2013. Led by Chairman Scott Bullington of the Boys' and Girls' Club, the council met on Thursday, February 28, and packed the room with willing volunteers that were excited about sports and hosting new and reoccurring events in our community. The group voted on, accepted and updated the mission and vision statements, as well as listed three top goals for the year: to attract quality sporting events that will draw overnight stays and drive income into our local economy; to educate and involve the local and regional elected officials on the importance of and the return on investment that sporting events have on our local community; and to develop an organizational framework that supports and strengthens sports tourism within Greeneville and Greene County. The next meeting is set for April 4 at 11 a.m. in the boardroom of the Partnership. For more information, contact Tammy Kinser at tkinser@greenecop.com.
