An INCREDIBLE Tour DaVita!
All of us at DaVita Village
Trust would like to thank DaVita, the riders and the event sponsors for coming together to make this year's Tour Davita the biggest yet!

From September 13th to 17th, more than 500 riders completed the 250+ mile bike
ride through Oregon and helped to raise awareness for kidney disease while supporting prevention and treatment programs to stop the
advancement of this "silent killer." Together, the
riders and sponsors helped to raise $1 million
for DaVita
Village Trust! Your support will enable
us to impact about 24,000 lives!

We appreciate YOU and want to especially thank
all of the volunteers, sponsors and riders
for truly making a difference around the world!

Summer of Hope for Haiti Recap

This year, teammates from DaVita dialysis clinics have raised over $5,000 for Haiti, and they are continuing to support our efforts through fundraisers this month. You can also join us in our Summer of Hope for Haiti and help reach our goal of $72,000 by September 30th. With your gift, DVT will purchase the supplies (dialysis catheter, six cartridges, fluid lines, and dialysate) needed to provide emergency dialysis to SAVE
THE LIFE of ONE PATIENT
through six dialysis treatments
which is $200 per treatment.

HCP Teammate to Join Screening Mission

Next month three Bridge of Life program volunteers will travel to Guatemala City to assist our in-country partner, Fundanier, and provide kidney disease screenings to elementary age children. This is also a milestone mission for us as it's the first mission open to both DaVita and HealthCare Partners Teammates!

Team Guatemala will include Esmeralda Lomeli, an FA from Ontario, CA; Ivette Sanchez, an RN from USC DaVita in Los Angeles, CA; and Patricio Cantillo, Marketing Manager from HCP's offices in Torrance, CA. Safe travels during your mission next month!

And remember, all of our volunteer applications will be kept on file and will be considered for upcoming missions this year. Also, stay tuned as we'll have even more volunteer opportunities geared towards Healthcare Partner Teammates in 2015!

Open Enrollment and the New GLOBAL GIVERS Club

DaVita Open Enrollment for teammates is coming up in November and it's also your chance to sign up as a Payroll Donor. Our payroll donors are some of our most important supporters. Any donation--large or small--makes a profound difference as we work to provide screening and treatment for dialysis patients around the world. In addition, your monthly gift increases our efficiency, giving us the ability to plan and implement long-term solutions for existing and new Bridge of Life partners, prepare for additional CKD screenings, and answer urgent requests.

Also, this year you can become a Global Giver through your Payroll Donation with a gift of at least $50 annually (only $1.93 per pay period). As a Global Giver you will receive special communications about the impact you help create and learn about the individuals whose lives have been forever changed through your gift.

Volunteer Stories - Kathleen Premo

I was honored to have an opportunity to participate in a Bridge of Life mission, a program of DaVita Village Trust.

The mission took place at the Fundanier pediatric dialysis clinic in Guatemala and its purpose was to identify areas for our HCP Coordinated Care Teammates to get involved in the Bridge of Life Missions and to provide strategic business advice to the Fundanier clinic to allow it to meet funding and purchasing challenges. We accomplished our goals and were able to bring our sophisticated business practices and strategic strength to this team to provide them with cutting edge support. We also had the opportunity to bolster Fundanier's negotiating position with the Roosevelt Hospital Administrator.

We spent two days with Dr. Randall Lou and the Fundanier clinical leadership, touring the facility and meeting the kids. I was deeply inspired by the gift that the Fundanier team, supported by Bridge of Life, gives to the children of Guatemala. This clinic is the last hope for these incredible kids. What a truly amazing experience!
