Scouting for Food

Tomorrow, Saturday, April 9th, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts from all over Samoset Council will have left a tan bag (from Trig's food stores) at residences throughout Weston. The Scouts ask that contributions of non-perishable food and /or personal and household care items be placed in the bag and the bag then placed out for collection by the Scouts before 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 16th. All collections will be distributed locally. If for some reason, your home did not get a tan bag, or your pick-up is missed on Saturday, April 16th, bags can be picked up and food can be dropped off at the Weston Municipal Center during normal business hours.

2016 marks the twenty- eight consecutive year for the Boy Scouts of America (BSA)'s Scouting for Food Community Service Project. In this nation-wide effort the BSA partners with local food pantries to help our neighbors.  National statistics indicate that 20% of Americans face some type of food inadequacy every week. The Scouts and their leaders thank you for continued support of Scouting and the efforts of our local food pantries.
