20 Years as a Village

At the January 21st South Area Business Association Annual
Dinner, the Village of Weston received a plaque to recognize their 20 years of being a Village. 2 of the Board of Trustees (Loren White & Fred Schuster) and 6 employees (John Jacobs, Renee Hodell, Keith Donner, Jennifer Higgins, Sherry Weinkauf and Heather Meliska) attended to accept the award.

The Village of Weston was incorporated on March 11, 1996.
Abby Bank Weston
Business of the Year

Congratulations to AbbyBank Weston for being honored as the Business of the Year through South Area Business Association (SABA). They were recognized at the SABA Annual Recognition Dinner on Thursday, January 21st.
Christmas Tree Pick-Up

Advanced Disposal will be picking up Christmas Trees that are set out for disposal during the month of January.

  • Tree needs to be cut in half.
  • The cut pieces can be no longer than 4 ft. in length.
  • The cut pieces should be laying on their sides near the garbage cart.
  • Your garbage cart needs to be set out (full or empty), as the driver will initially empty the garbage cart, then he gets out and places the tree within the cart, and he uses the trucks mechanical arm to empty the tree into the top of the truck.  They do not have a side or back opening in the truck where they can just throw the tree in by hand.

If you do not want to wait for Advanced Disposal's driver to pick up your tree, a few other options to consider are:
  • Delivering your tree directly to Advanced Disposal, during their office hours, and only during the month of January.
  • Delivering your tree directly to Marathon County Solid Waste, during their office hours, and year-round.

Pet License

PetData will be sending the 2016 pet license renewal notices directly to your mailbox once again this year.  Pet owners will have several options for renewing the licenses, including by mail or online.  New pet owners or pet owners that did not receive a notice may also use the online licensing system.

Pets must be licensed BEORE April 1, 2016 to avoid higher licensing fees and fines.

Purchasing a license and attaching it to your pet's collar is one of the most important things that you can do as a responsible pet owner.  Displaying the current license tag on your pet's collar makes it easy for Animal Control officers and shelter employees to quickly locate the lost pet's owner information.  It just might be the fastest way to get your lost pet back home to the family!

For more information on pet licensing including costs and number of pets,  please visit the Village's website at www.westonwi.gov/PetLicense.
