Christmas Tree Pick-Up

Advanced Disposal will be picking up Christmas Trees that are set out for disposal during the month of JanuaryTrees should be cut so that they are no more than 4 feet in length, placed on their side, and within reasonable reach of Advanced Disposal's driver.  Trees will be collected on the regular garbage days, and we encourage residents to get their trees out for collection within the first few weeks of January, to guarantee that they will be picked up.

If you do not want to wait for Advanced Disposal's driver to pick up your tree, a few other options to consider are:
  • Delivering your tree directly to Advanced Disposal, during their office hours, and only during the month of January.
  • Delivering your tree directly to Marathon County Solid Waste, during their office hours, and year-round.

If you are in need of a building permit inspection, please contact the Village Municipal Center at 715-359-6114 or via email at plandev@westonwi.gov and staff will assist you with scheduling your inspection with the contract inspector. Village Planning and Development Staff will continue to assist with permit questions and intake during the normal Building Inspection Office Hours of 8- 9am and 3:30-4:30pm Monday through Thursday or anytime via email at plandev@westonwi.gov.
Anti-icing
This winter, residents may notice a new piece of equipment involved in the snow and ice control process.  The Village has added an anti-icing truck to the fleet by retrofitting an existing 1-ton truck with a salt brine tank and spray bar.  The process of spraying salt brine onto streets is called anti-icing.

Anti-icing consists of applying liquid salt brine to the pavement surface prior to anticipated snow or ice storms.  Anti-icing significantly reduces the amount of salt used because it prevents snow from becoming compacted and bonded to the road surface, which allows plows to more effectively clear the streets.

Anti-icing will be applied on major thoroughfares, main intersections, bridge decks, hills and curves.

Pet License

PetData will be sending the 2016 pet license renewal notices directly to your mailbox once again this year.  Pet owners will have several options for renewing the licenses, including by mail or online.  New pet owners or pet owners that did not receive a notice may also use the online licensing system.

Pets must be licensed BEORE April 1, 2016 to avoid higher licensing fees and fines.

Purchasing a license and attaching it to your pet's collar is one of the most important things that you can do as a responsible pet owner.  Displaying the current license tag on your pet's collar makes it easy for Animal Control officers and shelter employees to quickly locate the lost pet's owner information.  It just might be the fastest way to get your lost pet back home to the family!
