  • Village Board meeting, Monday, November 2, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. 
Unless stated otherwise, all meetings are held at the Village of Weston Municipal Center, 5500 Schofield Avenue.

Fall Yard Materials Pick-Up
This year's Fall yard waste materials pick-up began Monday, October 19, 2015. Pickup began in the neighborhoods that have garbage pickup on Friday and the crew will then progress through the Village sequentially along the garbage routes.

Please note that some routes take multiple days to get through depending on the amount of material to be picked up. The Village will be updating its social media platforms daily with the pickup locations.

Job Opening
Deputy Finance Director
The Village of Weston, Marathon County, WI, pop. 15,276 is seeking a full-time Deputy Finance Director. 

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, and five (5) years of experience in financial analysis, governmental accounting and computer software and graphics or an equivalent combination of experience and education which will result in the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the job. Certifications including CPA, CGFO or CPFO are also desirable. 

The Deputy Finance Director will assist the Finance Director with specific accounting functions, debt and treasury management, financial analysts' activities, budgeting functions, financial reporting and the annual audit. Salary range is $51,293 to $58,635 annually, with a maximum salary of $70,354, plus benefits.

Quirt Family Dentistry
Help Support Local Food Pantries 
The Weston Office of Quirt Family Dentistry is currently running a food drive to support Blessings in a Backpack and the local food pantries through Peyton's Promise. Bring in 3 non-perishable food items and receive a FREE fluoride treatment (a $55 value) through November 15, 2015.
Last Day of the Farmer's Market
The last day of the season for the Farmer's Market, will be Saturday, October 31st.

Trick-or-Treating
Trick-or-Treating for the Village and Town of Weston will be on Saturday, October 31st from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Halloween Party with Dunkin' Donuts
Join Dunkin' Donuts and they host a Halloween party outside at the Weston Market Place (next to Dunkin' Donuts - 4020 Schofield Ave.) on October 31st from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Besides enjoying the last day of the Farmer's Market, you can also enjoy the games, candy, popcorn machine and all the other fun things Dunkin' has going on there. Also get a FREE donut on October. 31st when you where your costume in the store.

Kennedy Park Nursing & Rehab Center
Trick-or-Treating
Trick or Treat at Kennedy Park Nursing & Rehab Center (6001 Alderson St.) on Saturday, October 31st from 1:00-3:00 pm. It's safe, warm, and fun for young and old alike. Sponsored by the Kennedy Park Resident Council.
DECA's Annual Trick-or-Treating Event
Join D.C. Everest DECA's Club for their second annual Trick-or-Can event being held on Saturday, October 31st! They will collecting non-perishable food items during Trick-or-Treating hours (4-7pm) in the Everest community in which they will be donating to the D.C. Everest Blessings in a Backpack program. 

Last year, they collected well over 4,000 items for the cause!
Hmong New Year Celebration
Wausau area's Hmong community invites you to their cultural and talent shows, singing and dancing competitions, traditional performance and dance, foods, and much more. 

This event will be held Saturday, October 31 - Sunday, November 1, 2015 and is open to the whole community. Day admission for Saturday and Sunday from 8:00am to 4:00pm is $3 per person, free for those younger than 10 and older than 65. Saturday also features a night party from 6:30pm to
midnight, with a live band performance. Admission for the night party is $10 per person in advance and $12 at the door.
Blood Drive
Ministry St. Clare's 
The Blood Center of Wisconsin is having a Blood Drive at Ministry Saint Clare's Hospital in Weston on Monday, November 2nd from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (Use Hospital Entrance #3). For an appointment or more information please call 1-888-310-7555 or register online at www.bcw.edu/stclare. All blood types are needed. Walk-ins welcome. Please bring photo ID at time of donation.

Focusing on the Community

Marathon Endurance
Poker Run 
Join Marathon Endurance for their Poker Run on Saturday, November 7th. Run from checkpoint to checkpoint collecting playing cards to build a playable hand. Distance is about a 5K with no official timing. Run, walk, or have someone push you in a stroller! Registration is $20 which includes a swag bag, awards/door prizes, and post race beverages and subs from Jimmy John's. 

9 Pin Bowling Bash
Head on over to Dale's Weston Lanes on November 7th for JP's 9 Pin Bowling Bash to help raise money for the Jason Elliott Scholarship Fund. Bowling begins at 7:00 p.m. $20 entry fee for 3 games of bowling. There will be door prizes and raffles, including a special mystery raffle. No average is needed.

Comedy Show
Dale's Weston Lanes 
Join Dale's Weston Lanes and Classic Rock 103.3 WGLX on November 13th, for a night of laughs as they welcome Costaki Economopoulos & Dwight Slade as heard on the Bob & Tom Show. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance.

United Way's 2-1-1

United Way's 2-1-1 is a dialing code for FREE confidential access to non-emergency health and human services information and referral. They are there to help answer questions and connect you to services 24 hours a day 7 days a week, whether you need information regarding financial assistant, unemployment, services for youth or elderly, or support groups (or a variety of other services.

Bounce House Wednesdays
Do your kids enjoy having fun? Greenheck Field House is now offering their Bounce Houses every Wednesday from 6-8pm in the gymnasium! Cost is just $5.00. Children ages 6 and under need to be accompanied by an adult. Also, check out their updated concession stand!


AARP Tax-Aid Volunteers
AARP Tax-Aide is in need of volunteers to staff the call center to schedule tax preparation appointments.

Peyton's Promise
Weston Food Drive - October
 
Thanks for the continued support from the Village of Weston Area Schools, Residents, Pick n Save, Abby Bank and Fantastic Sam's, for their tremendous effort in supporting Peyton's Promise to help the many needy families throughout the year. 

Peyton's Promise has also started an "Item of the Month" collection. The item of the month for October: Peanut Butter & Jelly. The items can be dropped off at the Village of Weston Municipal Center (between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.), Pick n Save, Fantastic Sam's, Covenant Community Presbyterian Church, or Abby Bank.
