VILLAGE OF WESTON
HOUSING SURVEY
The Village of Weston is currently in the process of updating the Comprehensive Plan, which a vision and guide for the future growth and development of the community. This Plan is required to be updated every 10 years by the State of Wisconsin to ensure that the community is headed in the right direction. The first Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2006 through a collaborative effort with the County and other Metro municipalities. There are 9 required elements for the Plan, which are: Issues and Opportunities, Housing, Transportation, Utilities and Community Facilities, Agriculture, Natural and Cultural Resources, Economic Development, Intergovernmental Cooperation, Land Use and Implementation. At this time, the Village is working on a draft of the Housing Element and is interested in seeking out residents' opinions and views regarding the quality of housing and neighborhoods throughout the Village. Please take a few minutes of your time to give us feedback regarding this topic. Your participation is greatly valued and much appreciated! Please use the following web link to complete the survey.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
We want to congratulate and recognize Weston employees Sara Budnick, Scott Tatro and Craig Grosheck on being named the August 2015 Village Employees of the Month, by Village Administrator Daniel Guild.

Sara Budnick is the Deputy Clerk and an Administrative Specialist who has been with the Village for almost 9 years.   She most recently completed a three year professional education program through the Wisconsin Municipal Clerks Institute consisting of 100 hours of education.  She is now eligible to become a Wisconsin Certified Municipal Clerk.

Craig Groshek is a Utility Operator in the Public Works department and has been with the Village for 20 years. Craig regularly goes above and beyond his normal work duties and most recently came across a citizen in distress and made a special effort to give this person his attention and showed compassion in helping this person and making sure he was going to be alright. He truly exemplified some of the best aspects of serving the public.

Scott Tatro is the Building Inspector and has been with the Village for 18 years (10 years on the Public Safety Committee and has been the current Building Inspector for 8 years). Besides being the Building Inspector, Scott serves as the Building Manger for the Weston Municipal Center, Aquatic Center, and Public Safety building. He performs preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment, operates and maintains boilers for heating systems, and performs plumbing and electrical work including installation of computer cable and telephone wiring. With his expertise in these areas the Village's buildings are able to be more productive and function more efficiently.

If you see Sara, Craig, and/or Scott around town, make sure you thank them for their service and congratulate them on their recognition.
