Starting Tuesday, May 26th, The Weston Municipal Center will have new office hours. The new hours will be Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Unless stated otherwise, all meetings are held at the Village of Weston Municipal Center, 5500 Schofield Avenue.

SPRING CURBSIDE YARD WASTE AND BRUSH PICKUP
|
|
This year's Spring Yard Waste Materials Pickup began on Monday, May 4, 2015. Pickup started in the neighborhoods that have garbage pickup on Friday. The pickup will progress through the Village sequentially along the garbage routes.

The Village of Weston has started creating informational videos called Weston V-Chat. During the next year we will be posting several short videos to communicate preferred procedures and practices for your services. Services like Spring and Fall Yard Materials Pick-up, the wheres and whys for snow removal process, proper yard maintenance, etc. Please view the video below.

The Village of Weston's Farmer's Market is officially Open at their NEW location on the corner of Camp Phillips Rd. and Schofield Ave. They will be open every Saturday from 8:00-2:00 p.m. and every Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

COMMITTEE ADJUSTMENTS
|
|
Loren White
The Village would like to welcome back Loren White to the Village Board of Trustees. Loren who served as Village President from 2013-2015 and Trustee for 8 years before that, has been appointed to replace former Village Trustee Barb Ermeling who is now serving as the Village President. His long and distinguished career in law enforcement and on the Village Board has been invaluable, and we look forward to his continued service to our community.
Mark Porlier
The Village would like to congratulate former Trustee Mark Porlier who has been appointed as a citizen member to the Property and Infrastructure Committee, he will be replacing former committee member Jeff Belott. Mark's service to the Village began following his appointment to the Property and Infrastructure Committee in 2002. This is a post that he has held for the past 13 years, including chairing the committee for the past two years, while he severed as a Village Trustee. He has also served on the Village's Personnel and Finance Committees. Mark considers his service to the community an honor and a privilege. If you see Mark around the community, be sure to congratulate him on his position.
Courtney Costa
The Village would like to thank Courtney Costa, who recently resigned from the Personnel Committee, for her dedicated years of service. Courtney was first appointed to the Personnel Committee on September 9, 2013. During the 2014 and 2015 budget review cycles, the Personnel committee dealt with and addressed many important issues including the challenges of municipal personnel management in a post-Act10 environment. Courtney's expertise and contributions have been truly valued at the Village since she has been on the committee and we thank her for her time.
Don Penza
The Village would like to welcome Don Penza who has been appointed to the Personnel Committee. He will be replacing Courtney Costa, who resigned from the committee in April. Don is a Quality Manager in Weston with over 30 years of experience in operations and quality control. He has been a Weston resident for 25 years and has been very involved in the community including being a coach, referee, and director in youth sports such as EYFL (Everest Youth Football League), RSW (Rothschild/Schofield/Weston) Little League, and Community Basketball. He was also a member of the Citizens Committee that was organized to provide input for Machmueller Park and the Ryan Street Acreage. If you see Don around the community be sure to congratulate him on his new position.

The deadline to receive the Early Bird Special price for the Aquatic Center Pool Passes is NEXT Friday, May 22nd! Any passes turned in after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22nd will not receive the Early Bird Special price. Any pool passes that are received by mail must have a post mark date on or before May 22nd!

Peyton's Promise has also started an "Item of the Month" collection. The item of the month of May is: Canned Chicken and Tuna! The items can be dropped off at the Village of Weston Municipal Center (between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.), Pick n Save, Fantastic Sam's, Covenant Community Presbyterian Church, or Abby Bank.
