Starting Tuesday, May 26th, The Weston Municipal Center will have new office hours. The new hours will be Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

- Community Development Authority (CDA) meeting, Monday, May 11, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at Wausau Supply (7102 Commerce Drive, within Business Park North, in Weston)
- Plan Commission meeting, Monday, May 11, 2015 at 6:30 p.m.
Unless stated otherwise, all meetings are held at the Village of Weston Municipal Center, 5500 Schofield Avenue.

SPRING CURBSIDE YARD WASTE AND BRUSH PICKUP
|
|
This year's Spring Yard Waste Materials Pickup began on Monday, May 4, 2015. Pickup started in the neighborhoods that have garbage pickup on Friday. The crews have finished
Friday and Monday routes. The pickup will progress through the Village sequentially along the garbage routes.
As of the end of the day, Wednesday, May 7th, Spring Yard Waste and Brush pickup has progressed into the Tuesday refuse route area. Staff will be cleaning up the Monday route area with the leaf vac truck on Friday.

The Village of Weston has started creating informational videos called Weston V-Chat. During the next year we will be posting several short videos to communicate preferred procedures and practices for your services. Services like Spring and Fall Yard Materials Pick-up, the wheres and whys for snow removal process, proper yard maintenance, etc. Please view the video below.

The Village of Weston's Farmer's Market is officially Open at their NEW location on the corner of Camp Phillips Rd. and Schofield Ave. They will be open every Saturday from 8:00-2:00 p.m. and every Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

NOTICE: Please note the weather alert siren located in the North West corner of Kennedy Park, near the intersection of Alta Verde & Neupert Avenue, will be out of order for the next few weeks as it is currently being repaired. However, the remaining four village sirens are still working just fine.
Updates will be posted on the Village's social media sites once the siren is repaired. And as always when imminent weather is approaching it's always a good idea to stay tuned to your local radio and TV stations.

BULK-ITEM DROP-OFF
|
|
Bulk item drop-off (for Village/Town of Weston residents only) will be held May 14-16, 2015, at Advanced Disposal, 5509 Fuller Street.
Acceptable Items Items that will be accepted are non-metal items, furniture, carpeting, scrap lumber, mattresses, and glass windows. Advanced Disposal Bulk-Item Drop-Off Dates and Hours:
- Thursday, May 14th: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Friday, May 15th: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Saturday, May 16th: 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Please know that Advanced Disposal offers a fenced-in recycling center, open year-round, for Weston Residents to drop off their excess recyclables in designated dumpsters. If you have accumulated scrap metal to get rid of, they accept that at their recycling center, year-round as well.

 The Village would like to thank Jeff Belott for his service to the Village as a member of the Property and Infrastructure Committee over the last three years. As a committee member Jeff played a role in the Pedestrian Bridge project and the Neupert and Alderson Street reconstruction projects. Jeff also provided input on the development of the Snow and Ice Control Packet by the Department of Public Works which is referenced continually on the Village's website throughout the season. His dedication and expertise in the maintenance field has been truly valued and he will be greatly missed.

Welcome in spring with beautiful annuals as Ministry Home Care hosts their annual Hospice Plant Sale on Friday, May 8th from 8: 00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 9th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (just in time for Mother's Day). Located in the Marshfield Clinic Weston Center - Parking Lot 7. For more info please call Deb Hickey at 715-843-2798. All Proceeds benefit patients and families cared for by Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services.

RUN FOR HOSPICE
10TH ANNIVERSARY
|
|
Families and friends can honor a loved one and support hospice care at the annual Run For Hospice fundraiser sponsored by the Fabiano Brothers, on Saturday, May 9th in Weston. The event will feature a 5K Run/Walk, 10K run with chip timing, along with a non-competitive 5K walk. There will also be a Kids carnival, bounce house, kids runs, food, beverages, and a live band, and silent auction. Registration for the run/walk is $25 per person on or before April 23, $30 from April 24-May 7, and $35 for same day registration. Proceeds from this year's event will be used to assist in funding a community care room for patients with identified financial need at Aspirus Hospice House.

HOME COMPOSTING WORKSHOP

 Join the Marathon County Solid Waste and Recycling Connections Corporation as they present a Home Composting Workshop on Saturday, May 9th from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. There will be an educational presentation given in the Village of Weston Board Room, followed by a hands-on demonstration outside, so please dress appropriately (if we are experiencing wet-inclement weather, the hands-on demonstration will take place in the Board Room as well). Compost Bins and Kitchen Pails will be available for purchase, following each the workshop. Peyton's Promise has also started an "Item of the Month" collection. The item of the month of May is: Canned Chicken and Tuna! The items can be dropped off at the Village of Weston Municipal Center (between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.), Pick n Save, Fantastic Sam's, Covenant Community Presbyterian Church, or Abby Bank.
