SEASONAL WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS

On Friday, March 13, 2015 the seasonal weight limits went into effect in the Village of Weston with a restriction of 8 tons gross vehicle weight (GVW) on the majority of the streets.

VILLAGE WIDE RUMMAGE SALE

The Village of Weston will be holding its annual Village Wide Rummage Sale on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2. There are over 150 residents holding rummage sales! 

WESTON V-CHAT 
The Village of Weston has started creating informational videos called Weston V-Chat. During the next year we will be posting several short videos to communicate preferred procedures and practices for your services. Services like Spring and Fall Yard Materials Pick-up, the wheres and whys for snow removal process, proper yard maintenance, etc. Please view the video below.

FARMER'S MARKET
OPENING DAY

The Village of Weston will be celebrating their 10th Anniversary of the Farmer's Market at as they officially Open Saturday, May 2nd at 8:00 a.m. at their NEW location on the corner of Camp Phillips Rd and Schofield Ave. They will be open every Saturday from 8:00-2:00 p.m. and every Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

JOB OPENING

Looking for a Summer Job? The Village of Weston is seeking to hire a Sewer and Water Utility General Laborer. This position will begin approximately May 11th and would last for a maximum of 4 months. SAFE SITTER CLASS 
MINISTRY HEALTH

The Family Birth Center at Ministry Saint Clare's Hospital in Weston is now accepting registrations for Safe Sitter Training Classes to be held March 31st and April 24th in the Ministry Saint Clare's Conference Center from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Participants should use parking lot and door #3 for best access to the program on the campus of the Weston Regional Medical Center. 
 

Safe Sitter� is a medically accurate, competency-based babysitting preparation course designed for 11 to 13-year-olds. Safe Sitter will discuss how babysitting is a business and what your child will need to do to be safe and successful babysitters. Included in the class are accepting the jobs that are right for you, child care essentials, infant and child choking rescue, first-aid, behavior management and safety. 

Cost for the class is $50 and includes a student handbook. Participants should bring a bag lunch or money for lunch. Limited financial assistance is available for families who cannot afford the normal fee. Advanced registration is requested and space is limited. Safe Sitter Training Class

GHIDORZI GREEN & CLEAN

Join the Ghidorzi Green & Clean movement on Saturday, April 25th from 8:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., and honor Earth Day in hopes for a litter-free community. Everyone from the community is invited to help in the cleanup which encompasses the entire Wausau Metro Area and includes six sites in the Weston. There are even "Kid Friendly" areas where the whole family can participate. Safety green t-shirts, trash bags, and gloves are provided, along with a FREE thank you kick-off of delicious refreshments.

HEALTHY KIDS DAY
ASPIRUS YMCA

Join the Aspirus YMCA for Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 25 from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. There will be an information station on camp programs, summer membership, child care, the Wausau Triathlon and financial scholarships. There will be a youth fitness challenge with prizes and a pitch hit run competition on the soccer field. You can also try the Cardio Kids class in the gym or gymnastics and tumbling in our wellness studio. There will be open swim and aquatic activities along with craft projects and a book fair. BLOOD DRIVE
MINISTRY ST. CLARE'S

The Blood Center of Wisconsin is having a Blood Drive at Saint Clare's Hospital in Weston on April 30th from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (Use Hospital Entrance #3) All blood types are needed. Walk-ins welcome. Please bring photo ID at time of donation, eat a nutritious meal prior to coming, drink lots of water, and avoid strenuous physical activity until the next day. For an appointment or more information please call 888-310-7555. Your support is greatly appreciated. Just one donation can save up to three lives. Refreshments will be provided.

GIRLS NIGHT OUT

Come support D.C. Everest/Wausau Blessings in a Backpack as they host their 3rd Annual "Girls Night Out" on May 3rd from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. This program sends food home on the weekend with DC Everest and Wausau area children who may not receive the food they need on the weekends. Enjoy drinks, appetizers and games while socializing and bidding on fantastic silent auction items. Or enter to win several great raffle prizes! Register early as tickets are limited. Derby style hats are encouraged--best hat in attendance wins a prize! This is a great chance to get together with your friends and help support Blessings in a Backpack DC Everest- Wausau.

BIKE RODEO

The Everest Area Optimist (along with other sponsors) is hosting its annual Bike Rodeo on Saturday, May 2nd 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Weston Safety Building on Mesker Street. The Bike Rodeo will be open for children through age 13 and trophies will be awarded in 7 age categories. Helmets, Safe Kids Program, bicycle safety inspections, bike licenses, and use of the Mountain Bay Trail will be FREE to the first 250 entrants. There will also be door prizes and refreshments.

HOSPICE PLANT SALE

Welcome in spring with beautiful annuals as Ministry Home Care hosts their annual Hospice Plant Sale on Friday, May 8th from 8: 00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 9th from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (just in time for Mother's Day). Located in the Marshfield Clinic Weston Center - Parking Lot 7. For more info please call Deb Hickey at 715-843-2798. All Proceeds benefit patients and families cared for by Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services.

RUN FOR HOSPICE
10TH ANNIVERSARY

Families and friends can honor a loved one and support hospice care at the annual Run For Hospice fundraiser sponsored by the Fabiano Brothers, on Saturday, May 9th in Weston. The event will feature a 5K Run/Walk, 10K run with chip timing, along with a non-competitive 5K walk. There will also be a Kids carnival, bounce house, kids runs, food, beverages, and a live band, and silent auction. Registration for the run/walk is $25 per person on or before April 23, $30 from April 24-May 7, and $35 for same day registration. Proceeds from this year's event will be used to assist in funding a community care room for patients with identified financial need at Aspirus Hospice House.

HOME COMPOSTING WORKSHOP
Join the Marathon County Solid Waste and Recycling Connections Corporation as they present a Home Composting Workshop on
Saturday, May 9th from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. There will be an educational presentation given in the Village of Weston Board Room, followed by a hands-on demonstration outside, so please dress appropriately (if we are experiencing wet-inclement weather, the hands-on demonstration will take place in the Board Room as well). Compost Bins and Kitchen Pails will be available for purchase, following each the workshop. Workshop Cost: $5.00 (per household - limit to 2 per household) Compost Bins $53 - Compost Pails $25 Pre-Registration is Appreciated!! Please
