This Week In Weston

April 11, 2014

A Snapshot of What's Happening in Weston!
THE WESTON MUNICIPAL CENTER WILL BE CLOSED NEXT FRIDAY

The Village of Weston Municipal Center will be closed Friday, April 18th. We will re-open Monday, April 21st at 7:30 am!

YOU CAN STOP RUNNING YOUR WATER

The Weston Water Utility is notifying customers as of noon today that the standing advisory to run a continuous stream of water for freeze prevention is no longer in effect. The advisory had been in place since February 14.

The Weston Water Utility has been monitoring water system conditions and feels reasonably certain there is little probability of service laterals freezing due to frost depth for the remainder of the 2013-2014 winter season. This does not mean frost has completely thawed underground so the utility still anticipates some effects on the distribution system which could result in service interruptions.

The Weston Water Utility also reminds customers their water bills will be reviewed and adjusted for the water run to prevent freezing of their lateral. With respect to determining billing adjustments, please be aware of the following:

  • The utility is aware that despite the water run advisory some customers did not run water for freeze prevention.
  • Not all customers who ran water for freeze prevention will have run water at the same flow rate.
  • The review of bills will be a manual process. Billing adjustments, if justified, will be made in amounts determined after reviewing water bills from previous billing periods for each customer.
  • The utility expects there will be special circumstances to consider, so please be patient with the process.

For more information about how utility billing adjustments will be made, customers can call the Utility service number at 715-359-2876.
