SPROCKETZ BIKE SHOP GRAND RE-OPENING

"SAME FACE; NEW PLACE"

Weston, WI - Officials from the Village of Weston are pleased to announce the latest news from another local business in the community. The Sprocketz Bike Shop is moving from its current location along the 2100 block of Schofield Ave to the Weston Lifestyle Center campus on the corner of Camp Phillips and Schofield Ave.

"We are excited that Sprocketz Bike Shop will be continuing to make a positive contribution to the retail business community here in the Weston," said Village Administrator Daniel Guild. "Their new location will help provide for the growing needs of their business, and shows their continued dedication to serving their customers and sharing their passion for bicycling throughout the region and in our community."

Sprocketz Bike Shop owner, John Nowaczyk, has been operating the local Weston bicycle store since 2010. A family-owned business, John works alongside his wife, Lisa, who handles the bookkeeping. Together, they aspire to share the sport of bicycling with their customers throughout the metro area.

A well-known bicycling enthusiast, John is an often-quoted and regularly featured fixture within the local bicycling community. Despite his passion for the sport, John has not always been a bicycle store small-business owner. After a diverse career in the corporate retail, John was looking for a change when he joined the team at Rib Mountain Cycles in 2002. "I was looking for a new professional opportunity and instead I found my passion," said John Nowaczyk. "I have always been in sports, but then I found my passion and life sport."

Local officials and Sprocketz Bike Shop staff are inviting interested members of the community to join them at the Ribbon-cutting Ceremony to celebrate their new location. This event is currently scheduled for Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 3 p.m. the Weston Lifestyle Center which is located on the NW corner of Camp Phillips Rd and Schofield Ave.

Community members are welcome to attend the Ribbon-cutting Ceremony. Refreshments will be served. Please contact John Nowaczyk, at Sprocketz Bike Shop for any additional information.

SNOW REMINDERS

Winter is here and we want to take this time to remind you of a few snow related items.

According to Sec. 70.112 of the Village Code of Ordinances, snow and ice removal from sidewalks is the responsibility of property owners of a building or lot within 48 hours after snow fall ceases. Failure to remove snow or ice within the allotted time specified in the ordinance will result in issuance of a citation for ordinance violation which carries with it a $75 fine and, the Village without further notice may clear the said sidewalk at the expense of the property owner.

It is illegal to plow snow from your driveway, sidewalk, or parking lot onto any roadway. It is also against the Village of Weston Ordinance to plow snow across the street, as both of these instances can create a safety hazard.

On garbage pickup day, please place your trash container in your driveway and/or off the street & as far away from your mailbox as possible. This will allow the plow operators to clear the snow without hitting it as plow operators are mandated to not cross the center line of the street. The garbage truck will not have a problem reaching your container from this location.

Please remember to follow the Village's winter parking restrictions so our plows can get through. All vehicles must be off the roadway between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. and any other hours deemed necessary to allow for proper snow removal.

And most important of all, please try to stay at least 200 feet behind a snowplow and/or salt truck when the driver is operating it. He'll make frequent stops and starts and may need to back up. We don't want anyone to get hurt.
