Check out what Weston WI is all about! This year WSAW-TV is proud to present "Your Town Weston" to air December 16-22, 2013. See multiple news stories about the history, beauty, and economic conditions of Weston!

We are currently looking for different locations for the 5 p.m Newscast live from Weston during that week! Also, they will be doing many "live" commercial announcements from businesses in Weston! FALL YARD MATERIALS PICK-UP

This year's Fall Yard Materials Pick-up started on Monday, October 14, 2013!

 

The Fall Materials Pick-up is now in its 5th full week. As of Thursday, November 14, the 2nd, and FINAL, leaf pick-up effort has been completed in the WEDNESDAY refuse collection area. The 2nd, and final, leaf pick-up in the THURSDAY area has now begun.

SAM'S PIZZA - TOYS FOR TOTS
Sam's Pizza and the U.S Marine Corps Reserve "Toys For Tots" Foundation have teamed up to help needy children in our area. Bring in a "New" unwrapped toy ($10 minimum value) and get a FREE 14" 1 topping pizza from Sam's Pizza now thru December 14th.

Other Weston toy "Drop Off" locations are, BMO Harris Bank, Connexus Credit Union, Cutie Pie Photo Studio, D.C. Everest Middle School, Great Clips and Walgreens.

FREE MOVIE - OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL
NOVEMBER 15TH 
Enjoy some family time and a great movie! The D. C. Everest Middle School is presenting the movie "OZ THE GREAT & POWERFUL" on November 15th at 7:00PM at the D.C. Everest Middle School (9302 Schofield Ave Weston). Adults must accompany students and you can bring your own, water soda, and snacks. Please enter through gym doors. Admission is free! JAYCEES ANNUAL CRAFT SHOW

THE GIFT OF FORGIVENESS - WOMEN'S RETREAT

Women of all ages are invited to attend "The Gift of Forgiveness: A Women's Retreat"

 

Learn how to give and receive forgiveness, the most precious gift of all. The event is being held at Mount Olive Lutheran Church (6205 Alderson St. Weston) on November 23, from 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM.  Cost is $25 and includes inspiring worship music, meaningful bible study, meditation and lunch. FREE MOVIE MORNING - DESPICABLE ME 2

Everest Area Optimist Club as part of Optimist International Youth Appreciation Week presents a FREE Movie Morning on November 23rd at Cedar Creek Cinema (10101 Market St. Rothschild)!

 

The movie to be shown will be Despicable Me 2. The doors open at 9:00 AM and the movie starts at 10:00 AM. This event is FREE! There will be many raffle prizes to be given away. Bring a canned food item and get an extra free door prize raffle ticket. Collected food benefits area food pantries through Peyton's Promise.  AARP TAX-AIDE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Want to make a difference in your community? Then volunteer to become an AARP Tax Aide. Even if you don't have experience, AARP will provide you the training. For more information please call 715-355-5926.

LOCAL SERVER HOLDING COAT DRIVE AND MORE
Terry Blumberg, a server at Chang Garden in Weston and Mickey's Bar & Grill in Schofield, is collecting winter coats (and other cold weather attire) to donate to the Neighbor's Place (a food pantry and community resource center). He has also made the challenge that for every piece of clothing that is donated he is donating $1.50 of his own money to help this cause. Coats and apparel can be dropped off at Chang Garden (4215 Barbican Ave - Weston/102 Jefferson St - Wausau) or at Mickey's Bar & Grill (1239 Schofield Ave - Schofield Ave - Schofield).

 

ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARADE

DECEMBER 6TH

December 6, 6:30pm
Parade Route: Marathon Park to The 400 Block, Wausau

Families have been making it an annual tradition for decades. Bundle the family up and join us for one of Wausau's longest running traditions, the annual holiday parade. Whip on your scarf; wrap your hands around a steaming cup of hot chocolate, and witness the snow-covered streets get taken over with beautiful floats. After the parade make your way to the Great Hall for free cookies, hot chocolate, music from the Wausau Symphonic Band, and a visit from Santa Claus. Together we'll have the hap-hap-happiest holiday since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny Kaye.
