FALL FUND RAISER BEGINS TODAY!
Today marks the official beginning of our Fall Fund Raiser. 1st - 5th Grade students will be bringing home sales packets. Kindergarten students will receive their packets on Monday.
Parents, please review all the materials inside. All completed packets with exact cash only / check payments are due no later than Friday, October 11. All checks must be made payable to

DULUTH FALL FESTIVAL PARADE
Please help support our students and Kara Cowdrick, our "Teacher of the Year" as they represent Chesney in the Duluth Fall Festival Parade on Saturday, September 28. If you have not already donated a bag of individually-wrapped candy, please bring one to the Parade (nothing with a stick, please!) Put on your Chesney spirit wear and join us at 9:00 a.m. on Main Street - space #54 (between North & South Street possibly) to march in the parade and represent Chesney! Shuttles are available. TITLE 1 WORKSHOP
Please join the Chesney Staff on Thursday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. for
"How Can I Help My Child With Writing?"
workshop in the Family Center Annex.
This session will be lead by our Literacy Coaches. In addition, our Testing Administrator will be available to distribute helpful materials to parents . During this session, you will receive information and tools to help your child succeed in writing.
The workshop is divided in to two sections:
7:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. OR 7:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
You may attend either session.
Gwinnett Great Days of Service September 30 - October 4
We are collecting: Toothbrushes & Toothpaste (NEW / in package).Parents & Students who bring these items to the Writing Workshop (October 3) will be given an extra Raffle ticket for our Door Prize! *All items will be donated to the Gwinnett Shelter & Food Bank.

GREAT DAYS OF SERVICE
Chesney will once again participate in Gwinnett County's "Great Days of Service" from September 30 - October 3. We will be collecting NEW ,
IN-PACKAGE toothbrushes and toothpaste to help support this program. All items go to shelters, group homes and food pantries. There will be collection boxes located in the front lobby for your donations.

CHORUS TO PERFORM AT DULUTH HIGH SCHOOL!
Our Chesney Chorus will perform the National Anthem at Duluth High School on Friday, October 4 at 7:00 p.m. before the football begins. Our chorus will join chorus from other elementary, middle and high schools in Gwinnett County. We invite you to join our Chorus for the event and celebrate their hard work, then stay and enjoy the game!

"HELP A CHILD SMILE" Mobile Dental Service
Thursday, October 10, the "Help A Child Smile" Mobile Dental Clinic will visit Chesney. All students must have completed forms submitted for this service no later than October 7.

ON-GOING CHESNEY FUND RAISING EVENTS!
Every year, our Chesney classroom and staff members have collected Box Tops and Labels for Education. Last year, we held numerous contests and raised over $700.00!! Please click on the links below the logos shown above to see how you can help Chesney! Please send your clipped labels (please follow website guidelines) in a sealed ziplock bag with your child's name and their teacher's name. The teacher will submit the bag to the PTA collection area. Please invite your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to help your child in this effort. Thank you for your support!
