Virginia Living Museum e-newsletter March 26, 2015
bee boxes See a display and participate in a silent auction of colorful and artistically decorated hives for honeybees. The bee hives are a fundraising project of the Nansemond Beekeepers Association in collaboration with the Smithfield Arts League.

Members of the Nansemond Beekeepers will be present on Saturday, March 28, from 10:30am to 2:30pm with exhibits and information about beekeeping, bee biology and behavior.
Time: 6:30pm

Frogs: A Chorus of Colors now open
waxy monkey frog Explore TOAD-ally cool creatures and get eyeball to eyeball with live frogs from around the world through Sept. 7. View more than 70 live frogs from across the globe, complete with their noisy croaks, yaps, chirps, whoops, snores and whistles, all housed in detailed habitats. Daytime ShowsBack to the Moon for Good
Showing in the Abbitt Planetarium are: "Legends of the Night Sky: Orion, "Back to the Moon for Good," Virginia Skies" and "Noisy Neighbors: A Frog Story."

The planetarium is open Wednesday through Sunday. For Spring Break, April 4-11, the planetarium will be open every day and will add "Laser Magic" to the schedule. Check the calendar for show times.

VLM members are free, non-members pay $4 plus Museum admission.

Star Party/Laser Night
Join us Saturday evening, April 11 for our monthly Star Party/Laser Night. Free observing begins at sunset. See  "Virginia Skies" at 7:30pm,  "Hypnotica" at 8:30pm, "Laser Metallica" at 10pm and "The Vision Bell" at 11:30pm. Shows $3 for VLM members, $6 for non-members. The Wild Side Cafe will be open.
