animal masks Numbers in nature, south pole animals and squishy squid are all part of the science/nature fun for kids ages 3-8 beginning in January. Age 3 with a caregiver meets for five-week sessions on Tuesdays 10-11am. Ages 4-5 meet on Friday or Saturday 9:30-11am. Ages 6-8 meet on Saturday 2-4:30pm. Back to the Moon for Good Tim Allen narrates "Back to the Moon for Good," a fulldome program about teams racing to land a robotic spacecraft on the moon and win the Google XPRIZE - showing Wednesday through Sunday at 1:30pm. Showing on the weekend are "Legends of the Night Sky: Orion" at 12:30pm and "Virginia Skies" at 2:30pm. VLM members are free, non-members pay $4 plus Museum admission.

Join us Saturday, Jan. 10 for the year's first Star Party/Laser Night. Free observing begins at sunset. See "Virginia Skies" at 7:30pm, "iPop" at 8:30pm, "Dark Side of the Moon" at 10pm and "The Wall" at 11:30pm. Shows $3 for VLM members, $6 for non-members. The Wild Side Cafe will be open.
Groundhog Meet & Greet Jan. 31

Get ready for Groundhog Day with this Saturday event. Enjoy groundhog-related activities and crafts. Meet Chesapeake Chuck, the Museum's resident whistlepig.
Bacchus 2013 Enjoy delicious samplings of fine wine, local restaurant fare and an eclectic mix of live music and silent auction items at this 11th annual event, named Best of the 757 Gala.
