Hello Songwriters!
Chords are like magic. They can help you find your way into a song, emphasize (or contradict) the emotion of your lyrics, or even surprise you.

Watch this week's videos to see our instructors delve into the magic of chords from all different angles. Bonnie Hayes explains how chords can evoke emotional responses and how you can use them as a starting point for your writing. Steve Seskin demonstrates how choosing the "right" chord can enhance the emotion of a particular line or verse. Steve Leslie illustrates how to use chords as adjectives to add depth and meaning to your songs. And Randall Williams shows how changing up your chord progressions can surprise your listeners (but not too much!) and he illustrates techniques for creating new sounds and colors in your songs.

Whether you are interested in chords as part of the songwriting process, the technique and music theory behind different chords, or chords as a tool to use to refine your songs and make them the best they can be, there is a video for you!
