Hello Songwriters!
What is co-writing? How exactly do you go about collaborating on a song? What are the qualities you might want to look for in a co-writing partner? Steve Seskin has co-written songs with 250 people, so he's got some great insight into these questions -- insight he shares in this week's featured videos!

In Collaboration, Part 1, Steve covers the nuts and bolts of his approach to co-writing and explains what he hopes to get when collaborating with other songwriters. (Spoiler: the best result is a song that both songwriters love and neither would have written without the other's help). In Collaboration, Part 2, Steve talks about how and when to deal with the issue of ownership of a co-written song. Finally, in the last video, Steve and Bonnie discuss the different ways you might approach a co-write depending on who you're co-writing with. What are the different hats you might have to wear as a co-writing partner?

These videos represent 30 years or so of co-writing wisdom and experience -- all packed into a little less than an hour!
