Hello Songwriters! If you've been writing songs for awhile, you have probably thought about recording some of those songs professionally - you know, making an album! Before you record your album, you will need to decide whether or not to use a producer. But wait...what is a producer? What does a producer do? Do you need one? In this week's video (Part 3 of 3), Bonnie Hayes answers exactly these questions. She also suggests questions you'll want to answer for yourself and your producer to make the recording process smoother once you get into the studio, such as:
- What are the goals I have for my album?
- Who am I recording the album for; who is my audience?
- What songs do I want to record?
- Do I know how to play those songs yet?
- How money am I willing to spend on this project?
Answering these questions will make you better prepared and more confident going into the studio, and will make the process of creating your album much easier and more fun!
