Road Trip, Anyone?
Well, summer is here and many people are hitting the road for a vacation of some kind. The need to get away from the the usual and familiar is very strong. But then, when you return, you can't wait to be back home. When you drive up the road to your neighborhood, every landmark is a thrill to see again.
Why bother? Why is the urge to get away so widespread? Sometimes I think it's just part of our human nature. And, as it turns out, this concept can be a powerful tool in writing interesting, engaging songs.

Steve Seskin
Have you every heard (or written!) a song that starts out great, but suddenly becomes boring? The solution may be to establish a journey. In this video, Steve explains why to make the departure, and then gives plenty of examples on how and where to do so.
