Hello songwriters!
Sometimes, watching someone else go through a learning process can be the best way to solidify things you've learned. By watching someone else work, you can focus on the song and the songwriting tools, rather than getting caught in your own internal songwriting process.
Songwork has a number of song sessions carefully selected for good songs and teachable moments. The featured student plays their work, and then the teacher/s provide tools and feedback in a fun and supportive -- yet technically astute -- way.
Here's a selection of 20 to 30 minute Song Sessions.
By the way, these videos also provide the bonus of teachers with contrasting opinions. Watch Steve and Pat debate important points such as "Should we neutralize the point of view in the verse?" (Not Pretending) and "Which section
really sounds like the chorus?" (I'll Keep Tryin').
