ALDEN GARDENS OF WATERFORD SECOND TUESDAY LECTURE SERIES...
12:
When Stuff Takes Over a Life: The Hoarding Dilemma
6 pm/ Alden Gardens of Waterford Assisted Living Community - 1995 Randi Drive, Aurora, IL.
Admission is free. Dinner will be served.
REGISTER no later the 3 days prior to this session
by calling 630-851-1880.
Hoarding is a widespread problem though few people know when or how to help a person facing this issue. It is quite common for hoarding tendencies to worsen as we age. If the occupant of a hoarded home cannot meet basic needs, it may be time to summon the help of "authority figures" and professionals who can create an environment that motivates change. This presentation will summarize what seems to help and what seems to hinder a clean-up process, and offers some insight into the reasons people hoard and why it is so hard for them to stop.
