Hosmer Winery
Each month we will highlight a winery or two to help commemorate our 30 years. The perfect place to start is with our President Cameron Hosmer of Hosmer Winery who previously served as President 20 years ago. Cameron states, "When I was asked how the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail has changed over the past 20 years; two things came to mind, bigger businesses and better wines. As a group of cooperating wineries, the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail attracted many more visitors to our wineries and with years of wine making experience, has helped us to continually improve our wines to a world class level. One thing that has not changed over the years is the common goal of providing a quality experience to our visitors". Established in 1985, we were among the pioneers in the blossoming wine industry. As one of the oldest growers of grapes on Cayuga Lake, we remain focused on farmland preservation, stewardship and sustainability. Hosmer wines have been estate grown and made in the classic European tradition since our inception nearly 30 years ago. Our passion for grape growing and wine making is constantly growing, as we continue to plant new varieties in order to craft new wines. This year we are especially excited as we have harvested the first crop from the Sauvignon Blanc we planted in 2011 and will be releasing the wine in 2013. As active members of the Cayuga Wine Trail, we are thrilled as always to participate in special trail events with the rest of the wineries situated along this scenic land. Marti Gras, Say Cheese, Wine and Herb and Holiday Shopping Spree have continued to be an extraordinary way of introducing new wine lovers to Cayuga Lake wineries, and we hold a special place in our hearts for the new Raspberry Meets Chocolate event this June. This is the perfect event for us to feature our three fresh raspberry infused wines, Raspberry Rhapsody, Raspberry Bounce and Raspberry Royale. Enjoy these wines as an aperitif, a dessert wine, relaxing on a warm summer day or get creative with your cooking (we suggest adding a little Raspberry Royale to you next batch of dark chocolate brownies)!
