This week at High Meadows Camp                                                June 5, 2015
Sports Fan Day
Today was Sports Fan Day at High Meadows Camp. Campers and staff came dressed in college and professional sports gear and showed support for their favorite teams.

Creature Highlight - New Ponies
Since last summer, High Meadows Camp has brought two new ponies to campus - Koda, below left, and Sir Bentley Dragon, below right. Koda is an 8-year-old Tobiano Paint rescued from Greenville, SC, and Sir Bentley Dragon is a 12-year-old Welsh from the Atlanta area. Make sure to say hi to our two newest camp family members!

Place Highlight - Social Ball Field
The Social Ball Field is located on the Lower Meadow near the Sacred Grounds and the Archery Ranges. Social Ball is a Native American game that was introduced to High Meadows in the 1980s. In the game, which mixes elements of lacrosse and basketball, teams try to pass a ball to an open teammate and hit a centrally-located pole. Different heights on the pole are marked with colored bands indicating the point value of each shot.

Ants March

* We made s'mores today and heard the story of why they are called s'mores.

* We decorated t-shirts today.

*Every afternoon, we have been doing two special activities. First, we ask the campers what they have seen. We select one of the special things that we see at camp and add it to our mural and write it on a Popsicle stick that will become one of the sun's rays. Second, we take down one of the links of our construction paper days of camp chain. On each link is a question that we discuss.

Grasshoppers Gazette
* We made fruit kabobs for snack on Thursday.

* We made monsters in arts and crafts.
