The new compliance regulations for the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) and Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act went into effect on March 24, 2014 and are are intended to strengthen affirmative action regulations for protected veterans and individuals with disabilities (IWD) and increase contractor accountability. The Department of Labor has a strategic plan "to break down barriers to fair and diverse workplaces and narrow wage and income equality and protect worker's rights".
As a federal contractor with a plan date of April 1, 2014 or later, it is important to understand these compliance obligations in order to implement them.
