It's only Wednesday, but given the cooler winds blowing through New York City and the emergence of dresses with tights and over-the-knee Fall boots, I think it's safe to say TGIF--Thank Goodness It's Fall!
A Fall trend we're happy to see experiencing a 90's resurgence is the highly-customizable cropped sweater. It's a look that can be dressed several different ways, and in textures that might seem bulky in a larger sweater--in the look from No. 21, seen above left, multiple cables create a textural landscape that benefit from the closer fit and shorter length of the sweater, which is layered over a floral patterned button-down and tweed skirt for a chic and youthful office-appropriate outfit. Designer Anja Gockel layered a heavily sequined sweater over an untucked hi-low button-down and fitted leather pants for a rocker twist, Italian fashion label Marni chose a loose-fitting, marled grey sweater over a flouncy peplum top and matching skirt in olive for a mix of casual elegance, and Laurél eschewed layering altogether with a closely-matched blue cashmere sweater and digitally-printed pencil skirt, appropriate for both the office and a night out.
The Milena Cropped Pullover in ZARA KID (above, right) features a mix of stockinette, ribbing, and elongated YO stitchwork for a highly textural sweater with several styling possibilities--it will be as much a joy to knit as it will be to mix and match with your wardrobe! Layer it over a patterned button-down and slacks for the playful mix of texture as seen in the No. 21 outfit, or wear alone paired with a pencil skirt for a look that moves from office to date night attire. There are so many possibilities for layering a cropped sweater, you're only limited by your existing wardrobe. Of course, you can also wear it alone over a soft pair of jeans and flats--simple is always in!

ZARA KID Fashion
The Delia Cardigan is a fabulous example of ZARA KID's versatility with stitches. Unlike many mohair blends where the mohair's fuzzy halo and drape tends to overpower the wool's ability to create crisp stitchwork, ZARA KID presents the perfect balance, utilizing and highlighting the best of its component fibers. Mirrored cabled climb the fronts of the Delia Cardigan in stark relief against a reverse stockinette background, and one of Fall 2014's hottest trends--the contrast sleeve--receives a knitterly update by opting for a lacy texture, rather than a contrast color.
The 2014 Paparazzi Collection is available online and at your LYS, and features all your favorite yarns as well as some fun newcomers.
