SHC Foundation Gala Welcomes the Future and Toasts the Past

On Saturday, November 8, SHC Foundation hosted a gala celebration - Welcoming the Future...Toasting the Past!  This special evening, held at The Heldrich Hotel in New Brunswick, featured a live musical revue - Oh What a Night!...and payed tribute to the many individuals and organizations that have supported SHC Foundation over its first 20 years.  Special thanks to our presenting sponsor, the Far Hills Race Meeting Association; platinum sponsors: Sanofi US, Cain Brothers, and Flemington Car & Truck Country | Clinton Honda | Princeton Automobile Group | Somerset Patriots Baseball Club - and every business, organization, foundation and individual who generously supported this major fundraising event which benefited RWJ Somerset.  Click here to view the Gala video presentation.  Click here to view photos from this special evening.

Special Events Supported by Volunteers

Thank you to the hundreds of individuals from the SHC Foundation family who volunteered their time and talents to support our many fundraising events during 2014.  Events that benefited from this outstanding show of support included the SHCF Golf Classic, NJ Festival of Ballooning, Steeplechase Distance Run/Walk, Car Raffle, Far Hills Races and the SHCF Gala.  Volunteering is FUN!  If you would like to offer your services in 2015, please call Jane Jermyn, Director of Donor Relations, at 908.685.2885 or complete an on-line volunteer application.

runLargest Community Turn Out for Steeplechase Distance Run/Walk

More than 1,600 runners and walkers came together on September 28 to compete in the Steeplechase Distance Run/Walk in Hillsborough.  The 10K and 5K run, 2 mile walk and Kids' Sprints raised nearly $140,000 for the Steeplechase Cancer Center.  Thank you to everyone who participated in this event as a runner, walker, sponsor or event volunteer.  Special thanks to the many physicians and physician practices who supported the run through Physicians for the Cure, and to the individual teams who fundraised for this event.  Sponsorships are now available for next year's event (date TBD).  For more information, please contact Donna Castronovo, Director of Special Events, at 908-685-2885. Rubber Duck Race Benefits the Steeplechase Cancer Center

On Sunday, September 28, Raritan Borough hosted its 3rd Annual Riverfest and Rubber Duck Race at Canal Street Park.  The day of activities concluded with thousands of rubber ducks floating down the Raritan River to benefit the Steeplechase Cancer Center.  The SHC Foundation would like to thank Duck Race organizer Donald Tozzi and his committee for their tireless work in raising more than $23,000 for the Cancer Center.

Indian Community Raises $24K for 

RWJ Somerset

SHC Foundation Trustee Kiran (Perry) Kothari, pictured third from right, and a committee of RWJ Somerset physicians of Indian origin recently sponsored a Bollywood Musical Evening gala fundraising event at Deewan Banquet, Piscataway.  The event, which featured popular Bollywood songs, melodious oldies and gazals brought everyone to their feet and raised over $24,000 for RWJ Somerset.  A check was presented to Paul Huegel, President, SHC Foundation (pictured fourth from left).  SHC Foundation is grateful for the continued support of the Indian community and everyone who came out to enjoy this special evening.

Winner Announced in Annual Car Raffle

SHC Foundation's annual car raffle was drawn at the Far Hills Races on October 18 in Far Hills.  This year, Open Road Auto Group generously donated a 2014 Cadillac ATS 2.5L Sedan valued at $35,240.  Special thanks to Rod Ryan, President and CEO of the Open Road Auto Group, for his continued generosity.  Congratulations to the lucky winner, Sallyann Voorhees of Bridgewater (ticket #0043), and thanks to everyone who supported this exciting fundraiser. 

givingRecognize a Loved One Through Giving Tree Fundraiser

During this Season of Giving, please consider making a special donation to SHC Foundation's Giving Tree.  For each donation, an ornament will be added to the Giving Tree which will be located in the main lobby of the hospital starting in early December.  A donation in honor of a family member or friend is a thoughtful way to express gratitude and spread holiday cheer.  A letter announcing your gift will be sent to the honoree.  All donations benefit patients at RWJ Somerset.
