The CoAEMSP Board of Directors approved new interpretations during its August 1-2, 2014, meeting. The interpretations focus on the medical director, specifically assuring competence of each graduate by signing a terminal competency form and the method of signing such a document.

The companion document, the "CoAEMSP Interpretations of the CAAHEP Standards and Guidelines" contains the CAAHEP Standards and Guidelines for the Accreditation of Educational Programs in the Emergency Medical Services Professions with CoAEMSP interpretations adopted by CoAEMSP through policies. The interpretations are NOT part of the CAAHEP Standards and Guidelines document and are subject to change by CoAEMSP. Policy revisions may occur often, so this document should be reviewed frequently to ensure the most current version.

New Policy Approved by Board
Publishing the Letter of Review Status
of a Program

The CoAEMSP has a specific policy for a program to publish its CAAHEP accreditation status; however, it did not have a formal policy for a program to publish a CoAEMSP Letter of Review status.

During the recent CoAEMSP Board of Directors meeting, the following policy was approved.
