Reference Your CoAEMSP Program Number When Contacting the CoAEMSP

When you contact the CoAEMSP via email or telephone, reference your CoAEMSP Program Number, which will begin with 600xxx.

More than 700 programs are either seeking or maintaining accreditation. Many programs have similar names and in come cases, the names are the same.  The Program Number prevents potential problems and ensures the CoAEMSP staff is answering questions based on the correct program.
Request for Approval of a Satellite Location
..........................................................................
Staff Contact: [email protected], x115
...........................................................................

Adding a satellite? This form needs to be completed for each satellite location of the main campus (sponsor).

Use a separate form for each location.

This completed request form must be submitted, in advance, for each class for each satellite location.

CoAEMSP verifies directly with the NREMT, the eligibility of graduates from each satellite location. Failure to obtain prior CoAEMSP approval may result in the graduates from the location/class not being eligible for the national examinations for the Paramedic.

Questions about this form and about the approval process may be directed to Lynn Caruthers at 214-703-8445, ext 115 or [email protected]

Complete the Request for Approval form.

What is a Program Satellite? Off-campus location(s) that are advertised or otherwise made known to individuals outside the sponsor where students can complete the laboratory (or similar hands-on skills) professional course(s) without attending the main campus. A satellite does not pertain to sites used by a completely on-line/distance education program for individual students. Satellite(s) are included in the CAAHEP accreditation of the sponsor and function under the direction of the Key Personnel of the program. [Policy IX.3]
Payments Must Include Invoice Numbers

The good news is programs are paying their fees! The not- so-good-news is payments are arriving without invoice numbers attached, which makes it difficult to identify which program the payment should be credited to.

Sometimes payments may come from a different entity altogether (like a "dba" or a county office, etc). To avoid confusion and ensure YOUR program is credited with YOUR payment,  confirm the invoice number is printed on the check.

CoAEMSP will be at NAEMSE Annual Symposium

Visit CoAEMSP at the NAEMSE Annual Symposium. We will be conducting workshops, and exhibiting in Booth #304. See our schedule below and register today!

Annual Fees Due July 1
..........................................................................
Staff Contact: [email protected], x116
...........................................................................

In early May the 2014-15 annual fee invoices were emailed to programs that are CAAHEP accredited, hold the CoAEMSP Letter of Review, or are in the process of seeking accreditation. The annual fee of $1200 is due July 1, and is considered late if not received by July 31. Programs that have not paid the fee by the due date are subject to a processing fee of 10% of the overdue amount. Programs with satellite campuses are assessed an additional $500 per satellite campus per year.

The Annual Accreditation Fee invoices were emailed to all programs on May 5, 6 and 7th.  If you have questions, please contact Ruth Crump: [email protected] or (214)703-8445 Ext. 116.

Remember that the due date is July 1, 2014 and will be considered late if not received in our office by July 31, 2014.
Personnel Change Forms Are Now Available via SurveyMonkey

The CoAEMSP continuously assesses its operational flow and identifies ways to streamline its processes to benefit the programs. Recently the CoAEMSP implemented a new approach for programs to notify the CoAEMSP of personnel changes or submitting satellite request forms - via SurveyMonkey!

See related article below for complete details on submitting personnel changes through SurveyMonkey.

For changes in President, Dean, or Billing Contact, or for changes to the name and/or address of the program, please complete the Personnel Change form and email it to: [email protected].

For changes in sponsorship, or any change that constitutes a "substantive change" in the program, please contact the Executive Director for instructions.

What is in a Sponsor's Name?
..........................................................................
Staff Contact: [email protected], x111
...........................................................................

Who knew there could be so many iterations of a name? The CoAEMSP is noticing a trend that when programs submit their documents for accreditation, there are slight variations on the sponsor's name that appear on the CAAHEP Request for Accreditation Services, in the CoAEMSP Self Study Report, etc. This slows down the process because the names must match identically

The name of the sponsor must be consistent in all accreditation documentsWhen names do not match, re-submission of documents are required

Why is the CoAEMSP so particular? For several reasons. The name used with the CoAEMSP is also used by the National Registry for EMTs and with CAAHEP. All three of our databases communicate with each other; therefore, consistency is key! In some states, the name must match what the State requires.

Thank you for your cooperation!
