Following the CoAEMSP Board review of the 2013 Annual Report submitted in December 2013, programs that did not meet the 70% threshold for the National Registry (NREMT) Written Exam results and/or Retention were notified by email. The email provided the three-year average (2012+2011+2010) results for the threshold(s) not met, and those programs are required to submit by April 15, 2014, the Standardized Progress Report (SPR) Form for the National Registry (NREMT) Written Exam and/or the Standardized Progress Report (SPR) Form for Retention

New Satellite Fee Effective July 1, 2014
........................................................................
Staff Contact: lynn@coaemsp.org; (214) 703-8445 x115
........................................................................

The CoAEMSP will begin billing programs (accredited and LoR) for approved Satellite campuses starting July 1, 2014 at a rate of $500 per Satellite campus.

The 2014-2015 Annual Program Fee invoice emailed in May will include a line item for all Satellites already approved for each program as reported on the 2013 Annual Report or as approved on a Satellite Campus Request form already submitted.  Classes offered at each Satellite campus should be entered as a separate class (cohort) under Enrollment and Retention on the Annual Report tool and tracked as a separate class (cohort) for Outcomes just as any class (cohort) offered on the main campus.

IF a program is currently utilizing a Satellite campus that has not been approved, the program must submit a completed Satellite Campus Request form. Failure to notify the CoAEMSP of any/all Satellite campuses being utilized by a program will result in further accreditation action such as Probation and potential withdrawal of accreditation, or revocation of the CoAEMSP Letter of Review.

Please contact Lynn Caruthers at 214.703.8445, ext 115 or lynn@coaemsp.org at any time for assistance.
$1,400 Annual Fee Effective July 2015

The CoAEMSP Board of Directors, on recommendation by the Finance Committee, voted to increase the annual accreditation fee by $200 effective July 2015. The $200 increase allows for improvements to be made for increased efficiency, service, and tools to make the accreditation process easier for programs.

Improved and extended services include:
  • Dedicated executive staff for site visits to expedite the accreditation process
  • Additional staff to handle operations for the significant increase in CAAHEP accredited programs
  • Increased responsiveness, service, and  efficiency
  • New site visit management tools  and other technological improvements to help Program Directors manage site visits and other accreditation tasks online
"By the time the fee increase goes into effect, it will be nearly a decade since annual fees were raised," states CoAEMSP Executive Director George Hatch.  "This increase lets us serve our programs with the proper staff, resources, and cutting-edge technology."

"We are announcing the annual fee increase now to give programs as much lead time as possible to plan and budget," says CoAEMSP Chair of the Board Doug York. "While other committees of CAAHEP might charge as much as $2,500, we are committed to keeping ours as low as possible, and raising fees only when absolutely necessary."
New Orleans Workshops Participants' Comments

The following are comments from the anonymous evaluations submitted after the New Orleans Accreditation Update:

"It was a great overview of the process. I have a much better understanding of all aspects (even the ones that I've already been through ;-) )."

"Really enjoyed the info. It definitely gave me a better perspective of the accreditation process."

"Great examples were used - it was nice to hear from both sides of the process: the site reviewer point of view as well as those being accredited."

"I left the day actually excited to continue working on the accreditation process. Great little tips were given that I'll be incorporating into our program."

"The fact that Dr. Hatch, Mrs. Cason, and Mr. Kokx were there to meet and answer questions was especially helpful."

"As a new director the conference made me feel better about my site visit, and gave me a good understanding of getting my core elements of the program started. Also, the fact that it was stated that you know there will be some hits in your program that it is okay because it is expected."
